If you work in the mid-SOMA area, this is a no-brainer, as Split Pea Seduction is easily the best place around to get lunch.

agreed – it’s fantastic. i wonder if they enforce “one per visit” or “one per customer”? basically, can we buy more than one as long as we only use one per visit?

Hey Groupies!

Dominick – thanks for the feedback, we think so too!

Jonathan – Split Pea Seduction will be tracking this very closely. Please only use 1 Groupon for yourself!

Thanks for checking, and get your Groupon!

I think the extra “1 per” in the limiting wording is what is confusing Jonathan. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s actually “1 per customer per visit”. That is, if I buy three, I could use one for lunch tomorrow, and on monday I could use one and a friend could use the other one, correct?

Hi Andrew,

I’m so sorry if you’re confused by the Fine Print. Please note though, the full Fine Print reads “Limit 1 per person, 1 per visit. May buy multiple as gifts.” In other words, you may buy multiple Groupons, but may only use 1 of them for yourself. So, in your situation, you may buy 3, but may only use 1 for yourself, and the other 2 must be given as gifts.

Thanks so much for checking, and get your Groupon!

I just bought this but could not find the confirmation in my e-m.
Then I saw the offer was sold out. Did my purchase go through?
Thanks!

Pleas disregard the previous comment…now it’s on again. Don’t know what happened!

Hi,
I did not see that they would be following this so closely and was dismayed that they would not take my second Groupon when I came back a few days later to try different things on their menu.
I’m not sure I can make it for lunch there with friends, so I would like to find out about how I can return the additional 3 Groupons that I cannot use for myself.
Please advise, thanks.
David

Actually, the fine print is VERY misleading. Please be more clear in the future. The way it reads is that you can only use one per day. It should have been worded more carefully: One per person for the entire time of the promotion. Multiples may be bought as gifts.

I just went there today & was informed of the REAL fine print.

Bummer. This was my first time using Groupon too. Fortunately, they’re being pretty cool about it at Split Pea so I may just give my other ones away as gifts since we work right by them but I expect more out of Groupon, since this is their business and they should know how to word the fine print so it is not at all ambiguous

Niiiiice. No comment from Groupon.

From my understanding, the contracts that Groupon has with their suppliers are very specific. There’s no reason for us – the buyers – not to have it spelled out. Just the numbers of confused buyers are a good sign that Groupon isn’t being clear.

Very bad attitude of the person at the counter (I think he’s the owner). The groupon clearly said one per person, one per visit. My friend and i went there today 8/2 – I had 2 Groupons – one for me and one for my friend. The guy at the counter REFUSED to honor the second groupon EVEN THOUGH WE WERE TWO DISTINCT PERSONS. The Groupon does NOT state ONE PER PARTY – it clearly states ONE PER PERSON. After discussing with him, he still did not want to honor the second Groupon. I called Groupon for a refund – I got my refund.
