In 1954, the Bishop family built their plantation-style estate on the Merrimack River. They kept to themselves for the most part, avoiding town functions, coming out mostly at night. The local townsfolk largely left the Bishops alone, but around Halloween they would hear strange noises—high pitched squeals and muffled cries—and some of their neighbors would go missing. Finally, in 1972, two cars belonging to local teens were found burned and abandoned by the Bishop property, and the town's uproar caused the family to be arrested. But one summer day in 2013, Nightmare New England workers accidentally unearthed a mysterious box. Inside, they found evidence acquitting the Bishops of their murderous crimes. Now, the surviving Bishops have returned to Litchfield—and so have the disappearances.
Brave adventurers can tempt the Bishops and investigate their crimes in five bone-chilling attractions at Spookyworld. Brigham Manor: The Bishop Legacy opens up the desolate, graffiti-crusted halls and rooms of the Bishop family mansion, putting intruders face-to-face with Halloween artifacts and, perhaps, the Bishops themselves. Riverside Hospital, meanwhile, beckons guests into its darkened corridors where, using only a glow stick for light, they'll glimpse ghoulish mental patients and horrific tableaus. Other attractions include the dark woods of The Colony and a 3D Freak Show—a labyrinth of sewers and demented carnival attractions where evil clowns and zombies wait for new prey or long-belated birthday cards.
