I cancelled Spud when they bought it from the previous owner because I didn’t like the forced donation to reduce your footprint. I want free choice in how I support environmental or other charitable causes. I emailed them about this but they never responded.
p.s. the donation is only like $.22 but it was the principle of the thing.
Is there a deadline for using this? I can’t find an expiration date.

Hi Letitia, August 15 is the expiration so you have six months to select from the many produce and grocery items to treat yourself to some delicious food delivered right to your front door. No need to be home.
Hi Amy, I’m sorry that no one got back to you when you emailed us! During the merger we did miss some emails. spud! as a company is a social mission company, and so every purchase with us, not just the .22 carbon offset, is an environmental one. I can understand the frustration at not wanting to donate to organizations that you don’t support (or at least have the freedom to select the ones you do), but like every product as spud!, our carbon program has been strictly vetted and selected to be the very best we can find. You can already order now for a delivery next week by setting up your account and selecting your favorite items today or this weekend. To redeem your $50 credit either e-mail us your Groupon # and customer code or simply log back in to your spud account and enter the Groupon code on your check out page before your order deadline. Yes, you do ‘submit’ your order but you can always change it up till the order deadline. So it is never final until that time. (Usually 9 AM the day before your delivery for most items.)
I noticed there is a $10 fee if the reusable bins are not returned within 8 weeks. What happens if I try the service but it doesn’t work out for me? Can I arrange to have the bins picked up or how can I return them? Thanks.

If the service just doesn’t work out for you, you can arrange a bin pick-up at any time. Our driver will then come by on the next regular delivery day for your area and swoop up any reusable freezer jackets and bins from you. You can schedule this by contacting customer service at seattle@spud.com or else logging on our website and using the live chat feature.
Hello,
If I live in a secure building can you leave it outside the door when I am not home? If it is stolen, would I have to pay for the groceries and for the bin?

Hi Meris, Yes, we do deliver to secure buildings. You could provide us with a key or a code. We have a nice program for this. Or we will leave it outside. Theft is a non issue for us and we will refund your order if it did happen. But we should be able to come up with a good solution since you are best served when you receive the food. :-)
Hi, I was wondering what time of day you deliver on Wednesday in Bothell?
I am out of the area in Kenmore but my daughter is in Bothell and I will have it delivered to her house. I am having a surprise shower at her apartment on Saturday the 20th and need some items.

Hi Marguerite, Delivery times change depending on the number of orders on the route but you can always contact us on the delivery day for a more precise delivery window. Most of our deliveries are made before 5 PM. Few if any are made past 7 PM eventhough our window is up to 9 PM. We can also leave a note for the driver to call you.
can there be more than one customer per delivery address? (could 2 people sign up for spud that are at the same house, register for delivery separately and therefor use 2 groupons?)
Sure Anne, as long as you are roommates with separate billing information at the same address then just let us know and we will honor more Groupon’s for the same location.
Now that I have paid, how do i order from Spud?
@Alicia to start ordering, head over to http://www.spud.com to sign up for your account. You can place an order any time, and on Monday your Groupon will be active to redeem. You’ll be able to enter the groupon on the view cart page of your account (as long as you aren’t past the ordering deadline for the week, if you are, customer service can enter it for you).

I bought todays offer at 10am and still not processed ? Any one else ?
I bought mine fairly early this morning and just got the coupons. So patience is a virtue :) (not my strongest one though, that’s for sure)
Hi John, Groupon is really good at processing these deals. They may run a little behind and someone will answer you. Officially the deal will be activated on Monday so there is time and you can create a spud account today already. We will make sure that the discount is applied to the order. As you sign up you select “Groupon” under ‘How you heard about us’ and we will double check those orders for the discount. If you are not able to apply the coupon before your delivery day just e-mail us at Seattle@spud.com with the coupon #.

Does the $33 minimum for free delivery apply to the pre-coupon value of the groceries, or must you purchase groceries valued at $66 to reach the minimum for delivery?
I wanted to know if I buy two (one for myself and one for my sister) can I have them delivered to two separate addresses?… my sister will be giving birth soon, after the baby comes I would like to have some groceries delivered without her having to worry. It would come from my account, and I would be paying. Does that mean I wouldn’t be able to use one for myself (at a separate address)?
Hi Maury, the free delivery is calculated before the discount so you do not need to spend more. When you enter your zip code it will tell you and if it is $33 then that is what you can spend and if you like you could save the rest of your Groupon discount for your next order.
Hi Sabrina, Yes, all you have to do is create a separate account for your sister. The check out page will accept one Groupon code. Just remember to enter it with the initials GC in front of the Groupon code. Each account requires its own unique e-mail where the confirmation e-mails go to. Your sister will love the gift as we have found that many moms to be like organics. Great idea.
You can order this weekend already at spud.com if you want your produce and groceries for next week. Then on Monday morning when your Groupon number activates just go back in and enter it under the View Cart tab. Or e-mail (or Live Chat) it to us and we will enter it for you. Your first order has a 48 hour deadline. After that it’s 9 am the day before. Except for items like the artisan breads which are baked fresh for you. They always require a 2 day lead time so our local bakery can plan for it. Happy Valentine’s Day weekend everyone.
I keep reading here that I can use my Groupon this week (for delivery on Tuesday) but I just went to print and received this message “This Groupon won’t be usable until Feb 16, 2010 at 12PM. Spud is too busy today handling the phones in response to their promotion! You can go ahead and print now, just don’t try to use it, because it won’t work!”
So which is it? If I can’t use it until noon on Feb 16, that’s after my delivery date for this week so I need to cancel.
Hi SD. No worries, we can help you. We will activate the Groupon earlier but we can still enter it directly in our system even after your deadline of 9 AM Monday. Just e-mail your Groupon and customer code to Seattle@spud.com and I assure you we will take care of it. We will double check all Groupon orders before they go out to make sure they have the discount. We are a small company with happy local folks who like to give personalized service.
Can I use this in combination with the Chinook Book coupon? Full Circle Farms just had a groupon recently that allowed us to use both the groupon and the Chinook Book coupon.

Hi Cassie. With this awesome Groupon deal it is just one offer at a time. The other offer from the fine folks you mentioned required a produce subscription so our deals is different. We don’t have a Chinook coupon this year since we have our own referral program. After you have used the Groupon deal it’s a great way to earn more free groceries with each friend you refer. We also have a nice care miles program that helps you save points you can cash in after a while. Then there are the weekly specials too. So lots of good stuff. :-)
Can this Groupon be used for delivery in Portland?
Yes Kendra, absolutely, if you are a new customer in Portland you can use it.

Does your response regarding using our Groupon in time for a Tuesday delivery apply to LA folks? Also, when I signed up, I was eligible for a total of $25 off my first four deliveries. Will the $5 off my first order apply f not, then would I just lose my first $5 as per the Groupon rules, it (Groupons) is only available to “new customers” or those who haven’t used your service in 1+ years.

Hi Danielle. Only one promotion applies so if you have not received any orders and we add the Groupon promotion the other one will unfortunately fall away. But refer one person and you can gain it right back. E-mail me at henri@spud.com and I will make sure to forward instructions to LA.

Groupon is now ready to redeem at spud!
1. Go to www.spud.com
2. Sign up for a customer account (if you haven’t already)
3. Click ‘view cart’.
4. Enter the letters GC and then your groupon number in the promo code box. It will look something like GC123456-7
5. Click redeem!
Don’t forget to type GC! It won’t work if you don’t!

And what if it doesn’t work, when you type in GC and the number, after setting up an account? I found at least 3 different places to try to enter promo code and each time it said not valid. What now? If I place an order my Groupon coupon will no longer be useful because I will considered an existing customer. Can I get my $25 back? Or, can I make this work?
Hi Rebecca, we can definitely get it worked out for you. Did it not work when you were on the ‘View Cart’ page with your order? That’s the page that it should work correctly on.
Our customer service team can input it for you from our end. You can reach them on Live Chat at http://www.spud.com during regular business hours and they can enter it for you right away. If you place the order, our CS team can apply the groupon before you get charged for your order.

Someone from spud! will be on here during the day to answer questions, but here are answers to some common questions:
1. The Groupon deal is not eligible with any other offers. This includes the spud! referral program.
2. This deal is valid in all our spud! locations (San Francisco, LA, Portland and Seattle)
3. The delivery fee for spud! orders is based on your address. For most areas, orders over $35 have no fee. You can find out for your area (and find out your delivery day) at our website (http://www.spud.com) by plugging in your zip code.
4. The $50 credit can be used over several offers. So you can spend less than $50 on your first order and use the remainder on your other orders.
5. Only 1 groupon per spud! customer. But you can buy more than one to share with others.
6. This offer is only for new customers or spud! customers who have not ordered for 1 year.
7. When you receive your Groupon, it will be live on Monday February 15th, then you can log on to spud.com, go to the ‘view cart’ page in your spud! account and type GC and then your Groupon (It will look like GC123456-7). That will credit your account and you’ll be set to shop!
8. All spud! accounts require a valid credit card.
