Situated near the downtown waterfront, Stayner's Wharf Pub & Grill satisfies landed mariners with imaginative seafood creations served in a jazzy pub atmosphere. A crowded dinner menu bustles with seafaring appetizers that include the maple-apple-glazed scallop and shrimp skewer ($10.75) and comfort foods such as roasted eggplant and spinach dip ($13.95). Patrons dive deep into seafood entrees, such as the shrimp- and linguine-laden Mediterranean shrimp pasta ($18.95), an inventive curry-crusted salmon ($18.95) and the luscious lobster submarine sandwich ($22.95). Midday meals can be comprised of highly heaped sandwiches such as the 9-inch roast-pork sub ($12.50) and the chicken-and-cheddar bomb of the pub club ($12.25). Additionally, local wines and 13 draft beers, live jazz and blues music on select evenings, and a pet neanderthal who plays the castanets for table scraps all frequently enliven outings to Stayner's.
Stayner's Wharf Pub & Grill
Owner Todd Abbass founded Stayner's Wharf with the idea of uniting upscale food such as seafood, steak, and pub fare with craft beer, cocktails, and live entertainment. So there's plenty of drafts and European wine to be had while dining on Stayner’s Steak, pan-fried haddock, granola-crusted French toast, charbroiled burgers, and seafood chowder. The pub's rows of cozy booths, dark-stained wood, and marble bar top add old-fashioned touches, like a ghost that says "Boo, sir!" and "Boo, ma'am!" Live music mingles with the laughter and conversation, enlivening the surroundings with musical styles ranging from jazz to funk to R&B.
What some people are buzzing about:
I think we have the best food in the world - seafood for sure, beautiful surroundings and awesome people. And that pretty much sums up Stayner's Wharf.Paul F., Yelp, 4/26/11
Steak was cooked perfectly and seafood and chicken were tender. Add a knowledgeable, helpful server and good music- it was a great night out.Marshal3, TripAdvisor, 5/18/10

“When making reservations I would call at a time when they are not busy and ask about seating. I just assume that when you make reservations you get better seating. I have made this mistake in the past with other restaurants. I made reservations two days in advance and arrived a few minutes early. . Shortly after we arrived a band (jazz) set up to play, which was a very nice surprise as I did not know there was entertainment Sunday evenings. But I discovered i could not see the band. My view was the entrance/washroom. My husband had a great view of the harbour. I could have asked for another seat or changed with my husband, I didn't so maybe it was my own fault. Our food was great and so was our service. But people who arrived after us with no reservations appeared to get better seating.”
