Choose from Three Options

  • $29 for a three-hour beginners’ photography course for one (a $75 value)
  • $56 for a three-hour beginners’ photography course for two (a $150 value)
  • $29 for a 1.5-hour St. Louis Skyline photography class for one (a $65 value)

During the beginner course, instructors explain basic digital-photography and composition techniques to groups of six to eight students so they can get the most out of their cameras. Classes meet at the north entrance of the St. Louis Zoo Saturday–Monday and at the Boathouse walk in Forest Park on Fridays.

As the sun sets over St. Louis, photographers pair with instructors to capture the city as its lights turn on, aiming to create their own photo worthy of a postcard or magazine. Class meets from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Casino Queen parking lot on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

STL Photo Art

When camped out at a picturesque St. Louis spot—from an old barn to the iconic Arch—Brian K. Owens sees more than just the opportunity to take a pretty picture. The fine-art photographer and owner of STL Photo Art grasps for stories in each of his photos, stories that he seeks to bring to his clients through commercial shoots and instill in his students during photography classes. The shutterbug guides beginning shooters through Forest Park and the St. Louis Zoo, dispensing photography know-how along the way. Owens also lends his talented eye to elegantly capture moments at weddings, engagements, and knight-christening ceremonies.

The Groupon Guide to: Choosing a Couch

Choosing the perfect couch is important because you're going to have to sleep on it if you ever accidentally spill something (beer) on your bed. Here are some tips for picking out a cushioned wonder:

  • Sit on the couch you're thinking about purchasing to make sure it's comfortable and sweat absorbent.

  • You can shave a fuzzy couch to make it into a leather couch.

  • Measure the couch to make sure it fits inside your house without blocking any exits or spots that the dog uses as a bathroom.

  • If you've got a brother who regularly visits or a secret son who sleeps in your home every night, you're going to need a couch with a pullout bed.

  • If you can't find a couch you like, ask the store if they can do a custom order or put three chairs next to each other.

Where does your secret son sleep?
