A hot air balloon ride requires nothing of its riders but their undivided awe, unlike a Hot Wheels ride, which requires a blast from a shrink ray before boarding. Shrink the world instead with today's Groupon from Sundance Balloons. Choose between the following options:

  • For $149, you get one weekday morning hot air balloon ride including a champagne toast (a $275 value).
  • For $269, you get two weekday morning hot air balloon rides including a champagne toast (a $550 value).

Rides with Sundance Balloons offer avian-scale views up to 1,000 feet above the ground. Get acquainted with your flight crew, their pet peeves, and favourite ice-cream flavours, and then step into your 10-storey balloon's gondola to soar off towards high-flying serenity for approximately one hour, brushing the treetops or skimming the unpopped gold of unsuspecting cornfields. Sunrise rides meet a half hour before sunrise, and a traditional champagne toast rounds out your voyage, fully disengaging the landlocks from your Earth-shackled legs. Riders should be prepared to devote close to four hours for the entirety of the experience.

Sundance Balloons

Sundance Balloons' vibrant inflatables float adventurous passengers over scenic landscapes at sunrise and sunset. Each one-hour journey commences as sojourners greet their flight crew at a pre-determined location, receive a briefing on what to expect during the excursion, and observe their balloon as it swells to more than 10 storeys in height. Morning flight teams convene 30 minutes before sunrise, and evening passages begin 2.5 hours before sundown to capture enough twilight for wildlife and Where's Waldo sightings. The woven gondolas glide 1,000 feet above the ground but can sometimes gently skim treetops or cornfields when wandering over the countryside. Since balloons drift with prevailing winds, there is no wind chill and travellers feel only a slight sensation of movement. As is tradition for ballooning, explorers of the appropriate age end their flight with a champagne toast to tranquility, beauty, and neighbourhoods that appear as giant smiley faces only visible from the air.

The Groupon Guide to: the Difference Between Friends and Enemies

Today it's nearly impossible to tell friends and enemies apart because of the fact that their face shapes and nickname preferences are almost exactly the same. Here's a guide to telling a friend from a foe:

Brings Food to Your House: Friend. Though offering another human the remains of a plant or an animal may seem like an act of aggression, those are actually things that humans need for nourishment. Sharing a meal is simply a bonding ritual practiced by groups of friends or by two people who are deciding whether or not to start mating.

Gives You a Ride: Enemy. This is probably just a ploy to get you to a location where they can take your money or force you to listen to their new band. Do not fall for it.

Compliments You: Enemy. Compliments are just insults covered in admiration. Be skeptical of any compliment that isn’t phrased as “I love what you’ve done with your nose holes” or “I can hardly smell you anymore.”

Lives in Your Mirror: Enemy. It's that twin of yours, fooling you once again. Punch the mirror until he surrenders.

Is your greatest enemy the one giving you all of those compliments?
