Painting gives humans a necessary outlet for imagination, which, if not released, can manifest itself into a date-ruining desire to sculpt a self-portrait of mashed potatoes. Use your imagination responsibly with this Groupon.

SunDust Art Gallery’s instructors expand their pupils’ artistic repertoires with their Walk-In & Paint painting sessions and Paint n’ Bottles BYOB painting classes. As each walk-in session begins, painters grab an apron, select an 8”x10” canvas, and settle into a workspace at one of the studio’s more than 30 easels. Beverages rev creative juices during the two-hour BYOB class in which students learn to paint a 16”x20” canvas with a master instructor. Both deal options include all supplies, and students leave with their finished paintings. Walk-In & Paint sessions let students drop in during any open hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. BYOB classes generally run Friday and Saturday nights. See the calendar for upcoming dates.<p>

SunDust Art Gallery

SunDust Art Gallery is truly a family-run operation—Ron Floyd, a retired university art professor and a recognized abstract artist, opened the 5,000-square-foot gallery with the help of his wife Mary Lou Floyd and son Chris Floyd. Opened in 2009, the studio's initial goal was to provide the Southwest's eclectic and often-unnoticed artists a home, and today it has grown to encompass a gallery collection that regularly features many such artists and mediums for which the region is well known, such as sculpture, jewelry, and photography. Throughout his long career as an art professor, Ron learned to teach students how to overcome artistry's intricacies, and he now operates out of SunDust's studios with accessible painting and drawing classes.
