  • $199 for $500 toward hardwood-floor sanding and refinishing

Technicians eye floors for flaws, patch up any severe damage, and sand away the floor's finish to reveal raw wood. Then they plug any gaps between planks, repeat the sanding procedure, and apply a stain or clear sealer. To complete the process, they paint on two layers of semigloss, satin, or natural finish. This treatment typically costs $4–$5 per square foot.
