During FDA-approved electrolysis hair-removal treatments, licensed professionals administer small electrical currents designed to permanently remove hair without damaging the surrounding skin. As hair growth is a process that occurs in cycles, and electrolysis targets hair when it’s in the active-growth cycle, some patients may need additional sessions for the best results. Some people have likened the sensation to a stinging or pricking feeling.<p>
Susan Davina Electrolysis & Skin Care
After training in London, Susan Davina spent years perfecting hair removal and facial techniques at Manhattan’s Mathe Roux French Skin Care Salon, eventually opening her own New York studio. There she practices a number of beauty treatments that keep her clients looking sleek. For instance, electrolysis zaps hair follicles during their active growth cycles with a tiny electric probe, and waxing uproots strands growing anywhere on the body. Her facial treatments leave complexions more luminous than a TV set full of glowworms, as her skillful hands scrub away oils, peel away dull cells, and buff away fine lines.
