The Original Downtown Tour ($59 Value)

Phoenix's past, present, and future all make surprise cameos throughout this tour's sextet of stops. Beginning with a chef who transforms the season's best from local farms into impossibly cantilevered objets d'art, tour-goers then head to a historic tavern to eavesdrop on Arizona's political elite over signature comfort food. By tour's end, expect to slurp curried noodles, sip organic and sustainable "coffee with a conscience," and tipple phantasmagoric cocktails while nibbling timeless Italian favorites. Tours take place Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Evening Dine Around ($68 Value)

A well-chilled atmosphere of art, local history, and sophisticated nocturnal nibbles define the evening tour. The first stop treats taste buds to its famous lobster lettuce cups and mussels provençal. Next, diners are given a rare opportunity to eat crisp Roman-style pizzas and pork milanese amid the grandeur of a (supposedly haunted) former department store. The night's odyssey then appropriately passes through Greece, where the authentic treats are best enjoyed between breaths of fresh air on what has been described as one of the most beautiful patio in Phoenix. The Ballpark & Warehouse Tour ($59 Value)

Gritty-chic gourmandizing unites this tour's quartet of restaurants, all of which hug the borders of the Warehouse District, downtown, and Chase Field. Vintage vittles meet vintage everything else at the first stop, a produce warehouse by day and speakeasy by night back in 1928. These days, organic ingredients pervade the brisket sliders and other delectables that emerge from the repurposed 1968 Streamline camper that serves as a kitchen, and Pops whips up apple-pie-à-la-mode floats from the 1915 Chicago-style soda fountain. Alice Cooper records and Diamondbacks memorabilia festoon the walls of the next stop, which needs all the open space it can get to accommodate all 22 inches of "The Big Unit," a baguette-swaddled hot dog behemoth that can be laden with nightmare chili, sauerkraut, cheese sauce, jalapeños, and other toppings. A surprise eatery ends the tour after a stop at a restaurant whose cascading patio fountain and ballpark proximity create a picturesque backdrop to inventive sports bar fare.
