The Taste of the Gold Coast
Going on its fifth year, The Taste of the Gold Coast annually celebrates one of the city's most historic neighborhoods and its foods. The festival features a wide variety of stations where head chefs from various restaurants present gourmet menu items. Attendees can relish in savory morsels doled out by Carmine's, or send their tongues sailing across the Pacific with bites of Japanese fusion cuisine from RA Sushi Bar Restaurant. To wash it all down, guests can visit a bar hosted by Goose Island's Belgium Style ales, imbibe on Terrazas chardonnay and Malbec wines, or secretly infiltrate the Chicago Water Tower.
The event organizers at Raymi Productions like to put touch of finery into everything they do—even throwing a Halloween party. They host their evening of masked revelry, appropriately called the Masquerade Extravaganza, aboard the Mystic Blue, one of Chicago's largest party boats. The ship sets out from Navy Pier for a two-hour spin around Lake Michigan, with views of the skyline and the fireworks launching from the pier. Aboard the boat, partygoers can partake in appetizers, and cocktails.
