Diets. Treadmills. Stress balls. Rapid, heavy breathing. That motorized belt-thing that shakes your torso all crazy. You've tried everything to get into a fitness routine to stay in shape, but after a while, you always start to slip up. You're normal! The human gene tends towards laziness, as evidenced by the shocking evolutionary development of a fifth, couch-shaped limb growing out of the backs of many American newborns. For humans to commit to regular exercise, we require motivational leaders with carrots and sticks (and occasionally, carrot sticks) to turn our laziness into dedication, as well as a community of people to suffer through this process with us.
With today's ridiculously flexible Groupon to TEAMiFIT, $45 gets you unlimited access to outdoor classes for the rest of the summer (until 9/20/09) and you also get any 12 indoor classes beginning in the fall (begins 9/21/09)—all for just $45 ($175 value). TEAMiFIT's indoor and outdoor classes run the gamut from bootcamps, to dance classes, to yoga, and more. For a full list of classes, check out TEAMiFIT's class descriptions. Here are just a few of the fun fitness options:
- Variety Bootcamp: Designed to accommodate both beginners and fitness gurus alike, this workout is full of variety to keep you interested and modifications to challenge every level.
- TurboKICK: You'll have fun in your corner with this dance-based kickboxing workout designed to make you sweat and pull no punches.
- Zumba: Shape, sweat, and groove to the intoxicating Latin rhythms of this class, which fuses fitness training with Latin dance.
- FitnessApe® Ape-Escape Labyrinth: Currently under construction, this massive indoor obstacle course will feature a rotating cast of licensed, non-endangered apes (some friends, some foes) to chase and aid participants through an endurance maze of physical challenges. Can you best their fangs and riddles? (Estimated Grand Opening Date of September 17, 2010 is unfortunately after this Groupon expires.)
TEAMiFIT's friendly instructors will offer modifications to each exercise so that you can adapt to push yourself beyond the thresholds of human endurance—or well within them. Indoor classes are held at TEAMiFIT's studio at 676 N. LaSalle, and outdoor classes are held in Lincoln Park, Lakeshore East, and the Loop. Check out their indoor and outdoor schedules for times and locations.
