The nail technician then exfoliates digits, trims and buffs cuticles, and applies nail polish or nail strengthener. The 45-minute pedicure follows, immersing feet in an herbal soak tinged with reetha, an Indian soap-nut blend that's tailored to the client. A pumice exfoliation removes calluses, a foot massage relieves strain, and nail polish brightens up toes for sandal season. The optional paraffin treatment further softens hands and feet with a moisturizing wax.
