Do you have to be a licensed teacher to teach ESL in the US in addition to this certification? I am not a licensed teacher and would like to teach ESL in the US.

Public institutions will generally require you have a diploma program (2-3 year) which is not what we offer. This course is mainly to certify you to teach abroad. Employers of private institutions shouldn't have a problem recognizing the course but it is ultimately up to them if it is sufficient for them, enough so, to offer you employment.

The certification is valid indefinitely. If your desire is to teach abroad this certification should be sufficient. Employers of private institutions shouldn't have a problem recognizing the course but it is ultimately up to them if it is sufficient for them, enough so, to offer you employment.

Upon completion of the course, am I to understand that I will be receive TESOL, TEFL, and TESL certification? I read in another response that the course is skewed toward teaching English abroad, but I am only interested in teaching in the U.S.

Because TESOL, TESL and TEFL are, for all intents and purposes, the same thing essentially you will be certified in all three. I am a licensed bilingual/ESL teacher in the state of Illinois. I understand this course is primarily geared toward internationl ESL teaching? Once your company is accredited in a month will I be able to use this course toward my 6 course requirement for my ESL teaching certification? Thank you.

This is a stand alone certificate program, not part of a diploma program. This will not go towards your teacher certification but will enhance it.

What are the qualifications? On the website under Q&A it says, "Can You Elaborate on the Diploma in TEFL/TESOL? If you have your basic TEFL certification in place and have been working as an English teacher for at least a year, you meet the minimum requirements for obtaining the Diploma in TEFL/TESOL. " If I haven't worked as a teacher before, would I not qualify for certification and for future employment?

You can start the course whenever you want but you have 12 months from the date of activation to complete it. The course is 100% online (no need to leave the comfort of your home) and entirely self-directed meaning it is to be done at you own pace and on your own time.
