Whassup with “dine-in only”? $15 buys more Texadelphia than I can handle in one sitting. Will someone tackle me if I try to take the remnants out the door?

My family has been going to Texadelphia ever since the 80’s when we came here from Philadelphia. They are definitely different here but it’s a great difference. ENJOY

Why do Groupon eateries like this force us to “Dine-In Only”? Do they really want a rush of 500 Grouponers showing up and standing around trying to eat? Groupon needs to give them a little better guidance about terms that are more suited to the expected customer. I don’t want to sit around with people bumping into me as they squeeze past, I want to get my lunch & go back to work. Small food establishments with an existing “to go” menu need to let us walk in, order, grab it & GO!
I agree with Joseph. All of the restaurants should give the customer the option to dine in, or take it to go. Just add 15% gratuity to all Groupons, and everyone is happy.

Chances are you will spend more money if you are in the restaurant- apps, drinks, desserts- more income for the restaurant. Also, you can enjoy the ambiance of the establishment if you eat in rather than take out.

The reason most restaurants want you to dine-in is because that is the best way to ensure the food is fresh and hot and that you have a great experience!

That’s hard to say, as the fine print says one per visit. It’s ultimately up to the restaurant so maybe give them a call before you get ready to redeem?!

If the Lakeline location wasn’t close to my work, I would boycott it. They are on a different punchcard system than all other Austin Texadelphia locations (requiring more purchases for a free sandwich), and now they do not participate in this offer. WTF?
Hey guys, the Lakeline location is not included because it has a different owner/management team – but all other Austin locations ARE included in the offer!

The best thing about Groupon is that it gives incentive to the subscriber to try places we otherwise would not. In this case I’m really glad I got a two Groupons for Texadelphia because the second visit validated the first: the food was mediocre and the service was poor. Sure would’ve been disappointed if I’d paid full price!
Austin Java and Texidelphia won’t honor the purchase price of my Groupon now that it’s expired. Any other Groupon I let expire, I’ve had no problem redeeming for the purchase price.
