Fresh all-beef burgers ($5.99–$8.99) are served on white, wheat, or pretzel buns with a variety of inventive topping combinations, including teriyaki and pineapple or bacon and fried eggs. Fries start at $1.99, and milk shakes are $3.99.

The Burger Philosophy

The Burger Philosophy was founded on the principle that burgers should be made from fresh beef, not frozen, premade patties. From that principle came passionate discussions among the owners: What, specifically, constitutes the ideal burger joint? What kind of bun would it use? What about the fries? After days of theorizing, postulating, and philosophizing, they ended up with their answer—and the name of their eatery.

With walls bedecked in faux-Nietzschean maxims pondering the perfect burger, chefs put the theory into practice, grilling fresh, juicy mounds of ground beef and slathering them with creative fixings ranging from a simple slice of american cheese or hickory-smoked bacon to grilled pineapple or a fried egg. Hand-cut fries adorned with truffle seasoning or blue cheese and bacon play a tasty complement to the burgers, and six milk-shake flavors cap meals with an ending sweeter than one of Kierkegaard's romance novels.
