Perspiration gets mischievous when cooped up inside the body, acting out by drenching armpits on first dates and disguising itself as tears during job interviews. Release disgruntled body water with today’s Groupon to The Club at Harper’s Point. Choose between the following options:

  • For $40, you get enrollment in Instant Tennis, a four-week tennis program, and four weeks of full access to The Club including unlimited use of the fitness center and group fitness classes (a $148 value).

This Groupon is only valid for Instant Tennis and FitNow sessions that begin in November. Click here to see the November schedule. Included fitness center memberships expire December 30, 2011, regardless of activation date.

The sprawling facilities of The Club at Harper’s Point are tailored to both the athletically inclined and the traditional gym-goer. For each four-week tennis program, three-time USPTA Pro of the Year Steve Contardi and staff corral 8–12 beginners to learn the basics of the sport. In each one-hour lesson, fledgling racketeers work on serves, lobs, and tennis’s signature exasperated yodel, all atop 10 indoor Deco Turf tennis courts made of the same joint-cushioning material used to protect pros at the U.S. Open. Those that opt for the FitNow program take a classical route to fitness that kicks off with a body analysis in order to craft a beneficial exercise routine. Shepherded into groups of 8–12, clients engage in five sessions of one-hour semi-personal training to achieve such goals as increased muscle mass or decreased reliance on airbrushed novelty T-shirts for perceived muscle mass.

To further facilitate fitness, each four-week class pack comes with an accompanying membership to The Club’s fitness center. Apart from its 10 indoor tennis courts, the fitness center hosts a full circuit of Nautilus and Hammer Strength machinery and cardio equipment including ellipticals, stair climbers, and benign-but-frightening blobs to chase treadmill runners. Exercisers can also enlist in any of The Club’s group exercise classes, including Zumba, spin, Pilates, and Tabata boot camp, which piques anaerobic stamina by following 20 seconds of interval training with 10 seconds of rest.

The Club at Harper's Point

The Club at Harper's Point encompasses the essentials for wellness and entertainment, including tennis courts, a fitness center, and a pool exclusively for adults. The tennis courts span both indoor and outdoor acreage, with 10 sheltered courts sporting a cushy DecoTurf that gently buoys balls, feet, and dropped crystal vases. Outside, 11 HarTru Sports soft courts host rapid-fire matches and classes or camps for all ages amid shaded gazebos. In the fitness center, certified personal trainers whip bodies into shape atop Cybex and Hammer strength equipment, as well as treadmills and ellipticals equipped with TVs. The fitness staff also captains exercise classes including spinning, aerobics, and yoga to chisel physiques and wake muscles from their winter hibernation. Visitors can wind down from workouts at the pool.
