Hi! Do you provide Watsu (In-the-water) massage?

Hi! Disregard the Watsu question--I looked at the photos and realize your tanks are smaller than I had thought...but they look great!

Lisa S. asked 4 months, 4 days, 14 hours, and 30 minutes ago - 1 answer

Hi Lisa! Your question is actually a really good one and one that we are interested in. The previous owner of our Floatarium Float Tank actually did perform Watsu on clients. We have not experimented with this modality yet, however we are interested in floating craniosacral work as well. We are currently working out exactly how to offer this. Our Open Float Tank lends itself to this modality. If you are interested, just email us at float@floatshoppe.com and we will let you know when we are able to offer it!

If I purchase the 60-minute massage along with the float session, do I need to use the massage during the same visit, or can I split them up and come back another time for the massage?

Shelley D. asked 4 months, 6 days, 18 hours, and 30 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dylan S.

This is for one person to experience both modalities back to back. We are really excited for people to experience the combination of a float and a massage in the same day. There are two ways you can choose to experience this: One can have a massage first, get completely relaxed and then float, going deep into your mental and physical relaxation. The other option is to float first, experiencing deep mental and physical relaxation and then have our massage therapist work on you while your muscles are relaxed and your sense of touch is heightened. We also have Sky Walk and Space Walk packages which include a float, massage, acupuncture and a small meal all in the same day!

How often is the water changed?

Mark R. asked 4 months, 7 days, 9 hours, and 42 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dylan S.

The water is changed about every 6 months. After each float, the water is cleaned with a filtration system that collects any particles that may be in the tank. The water then goes through a UV filter that "light bleaches" the water. The water is also routinely shocked with safe amounts of Hydrogen Peroxide. The great thing about the high density of salt is that no living matter can survive, just like the Dead Sea!

does this help with body pain

Kathleen asked 4 months, 7 days, 14 hours, and 35 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dylan S.

Yes. Floating has been shown to help with many types of body pain, including neck and back pain due to tense muscles. We have also found that Fibromyalgia sufferers experience extreme relief through floating for days afterwards. We have had many people float with us to assist in healing their bodies after car accidents and even have athletes float here for decreased muscle recover time!

Can my husband and I come in at the same time?

Dana D. asked 4 months, 7 days, 18 hours, and 37 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dylan S.

Absolutely! We have three different float tanks and as long as you schedule at the same time, you're good (you can see our schedule online at www.floatshoppe.com). The same is true with a float massage combo, though you will need to call in to schedule for that.
