A single-day event held on Saturday, October 13, 2012, The Fresh Expo brings people together to promote healthier living through non-GMO, organic, and natural practices. A headlining panel of Emily Joy and Bernie Salazar, contestant and winner of The Biggest Loser, respectively, will share their inspiring stories and answer audience questions. Experts host an assortment of seminars, covering topics that span from developing a healthy immune system to matching foods to your genetic profile or favorite placemat. Healthy-cooking demos showcase local chefs and foods such as grass-fed beef, piquing appetites for house tastings inside the Edible Charlotte Pavilion. Little ones can play healthy-food bingo and compete for prizes inside the kid's zone, while adults learn about exhibitors such as Earth Fare and Field to Fork—a program that provides local schools with seed money to start their own pizza garden.
