Questions and Answers
Based on your calculation and the fact that it requires 1000 to tip, seem like the deal is at least half joking…
they being an new age advertising company, seems like they found a new cheap/free way to advertise!

I will be surprised and impressed if 1000 people buy this
Chris Y, Great calculation; should have been done by the people at Groupon before they posted the “deal”
Can you get a refund if you are unable to book something by Oct 20? That doesnt seem like much time.
i am going to get it, then drive 17mph with my blinker on the whole time.
Well, hope springs eternal so I signed up for it even though I can’t see it making 1000. Will be stunning if it does. My schedule is completely flexible, but I used my American Express so if they screw people on the reservations - the chargeback should be pretty easy.
Keep going with the math … 10-15 miles max during the 45 minute drive, so you average 13-20 mph. In a Ferrari? So this Groupon is more about sitting in a Ferrari than driving one. Great photo opportunity.
@Chris Y.: if they have 2 F360’s, 8 bookings / day would mean each car takes 4 people. Not a problem. If they run a tight ship they won’t need 30 minutes between rides.
@James F.: it’s 10-15miles or 45minutes, whichever comes first. So you can do your 10miles @ 60mph and be done in 10minutes, or 15 miles @80mph and be done in 11 minutes and 15 seconds. Or you can park it on Newburry st and look pretty, haha.
The deal seems legit, I just hope they’ll let me take it on the pike.
I can’t imagine paying $90 do drive a billboard through city traffic for an hour, no matter how expensive that billboard is. What kind of people pay the usual $499 price tag?
And wouldn’t it make much more sense and be a hell of a lot more fun to go to Hertz, rent some crappy Ford with the unlimited insurance, and go bomb it around the back roads of New England until it’s trashed?
The fine print indicates that proof of current auto insurance is required. Is it possible to pay a bit extra to purchase coverage through The Motorsport Lab?

Hi Donald,
There won’t be any advertisements on these Ferraris . That is for another program of The Motorsport Lab.
You certainly could make an argument for your Hertsz idea. ;)

Hi folks – this is Ray, the founder lfThe Motorsport Lab. First of all – Good morning y’all! Second of all – tough loss for the Celtics.
To answer your questions and concerns with booking is that we run driving experiences on the hour every hour and have designated 9 slots per day for the next 4 months (120 days). We’ll start at 9am and end at 7pm, with 6pm being the last one. Our meeting place is Boloco at the Boston Common.

Haha, I can’t image what kind of dolt pays $499 for this either! It’s a course through Boston, so I doubt if you can get the thing over 5omph. What a messed up business plan.
I agree Andrea…I wouldn’t pay any amount of money to sit in Boston traffic in any car…what a waste of time.
Don’t forget “45-minute drive or 10 to 15 miles of drive time”, 10 miles? take masspike in Copley roundtrip to Cambridge exit = 10 miles.
In a ferrari!!!! is 5 min. So in 25 min you are done
This seems to be a regular problem with deals that have time limits and companies that are not prepared for the capacity. Maybe they have more than one car?
Can I bring passengers? would want to bring my son.
Can I buy two and use back to back? Also do we have to drive on the predetermined street route?
Craig M….. It’s not every day you get to drive a $200,000 car. So even if the drive may be relatively short and you’re probably not going to get to open the thing up on the highway, it’s still a pretty cool experience nonetheless. I’ve always wanted to rent a Lamborghini and the rental prices for one day are just way too expensive. While I think $499 to do this is too expensive, the $89 price is definitely more than reasonable….IMHO. I signed up for it.
Alison C. …. The pictures I’ve seen show it is a two-seater. You would be driving with one of their people. So no passengers. Unless I’m wrong on the two-seater thing.

Jerry -
Yes you can. No limit to how many you can buy and combine!
Patrick
Groupon

what are we laible for if the car gets damaged in any way?
That is a ridiculous Groupon—and a bad deal.
My son is a car afficiando, doesn’t have a license so I would have to purchase this for my husband. Can my son go as a passenger or would I need to buy for 2?
My son is a car afficiando, doesn’t have a license so I would have to purchase this for my husband. Can my son go as a passenger or would I need to buy for 2?
One of my neighbors has a Ferrari; I’ll see if I can work a deal with him where you pay me a small fee to SIT in the car. :-)
the Ferrari 360 does NOT have back seats, and the instructor obviously goes with you so no extra passengers people!!
P.S. There’s also a Mazerati in the garage, if anyone’s interested………
P.S. There’s also a Mazerati in the garage, if anyone’s interested………
Great Idea!
Come on folks, what do you expect for $89?? This is a FAB deal for Ferrari/F1 enthusiasts, just to spend time in the car even for a short drive. I bought 2, one for my hubby and one for his friend so they can share the experience.
considering that $500 should normally get you a 1/2 day at other exotic car rental places, this is NOT a deal.
FYI – The groupon states driving a 360, but the car pictured is the F430. Not that there is anything wrong with the 360, but I just wanted to mention that so people don’t show up expecting a different car.
CoupMe.com had a similar deal last week and it was for a half a day exotic car rental. I agree with Thomas, the car in the pic is not the car you are going to be driving. The car in the pic the the f430 and not the 360 you will be driving.
Patrick L,
Is there a pre-determined route/speed, or can we choose our own?
I would not normally comment on something like this, but you people are being ridiculous! Of course this service isn’t about maximizing your mileage in a ferrari, or hitting racetrack speeds, go to a racing school if that’s what you want!
This is the perfect deal for any car enthusiast that just wants the opportunity to drive a rare and exotic car – I challenge anyone here to find another place where for $89 you’re allowed to actually drive an exotic car – the opportunity simply does not exist!
Ray – congratulations on launching this business, I think it’s a great idea! I wish you much success with your venture.
Yikes…lots of disgruntled people here. It’s $90 (which isn’t very much money) to drive an exotic car for say 20 minutes or so. If you like exotic cars and have never driven a Ferrari then here’s your opportunity. No need to break down the economical minutea of this decent deal and criticize the company’s business model.
Sean R/Matt M not trying to nitpick but if you book one and realize all the days you want are taken, the $89 spent, no matter how cheap the retail price is, isn’t going to be very fun.
the sales should stop at 1080 since otherwise some people will unable to book a slot after that (120 days x 9 slots as per Ray’s post). if the 1080 ppl who buy this all have different schedules than yes it will work out. im no probability major but something tells me that just isnt going to happen. if they extended the expiration i think this would ease a lot of the issues people might have (and increase sales!)
i think its a great promotion on their end. fully book your schedule for the next 3 months? what company wouldn’t take that.
I was actually just about to write what Chris Y did. What so ideally if you start booking tomorrow that is 1116 slots for now 1121 people. How can you possibly fulfill that demand? There is no possible way. Groupon and Motorsport should extend the deadline otherwise there is a 100% certainty that not everyone will get to use their Groupon.
GAWD. You’re killing me. You’ve spent $50 of time and effort in hyper-analyzing the deal! It’s a 100 to seat your butt behind the wheel of a FERRARI, probably costs half that just for the fuel. Get in the spirit! You’re killing the buzz – for chrissakes, its just a JOYRIDE!
Patrick L,
Please answer question by Wells M: “The fine print indicates that proof of current auto insurance is required. Is it possible to pay a bit extra to purchase coverage through The Motorsport Lab?”
Anyone getting through on the reservation phone number? It’s a Google Voice number and I keep getting the recording.
I imagine you already have to know how to drive stick-shift, right? They can’t really teach that in 15 minutes and not expect people to mess up the transmission on such a nice car.
Andrew S. When I printed mine it said:
“This Groupon won’t be usable until tomorrow. The Motorsport Lab is too busy today handling the phones in response to their promotion! You can go ahead and print now, just don’t try to use it, because it won’t work!”
Hi folks:
We are slammed at the office due to this deal.
We apologize if we missed your call.
We will get back to everyone.
We appreciate your patience.
Abegial… I read that and interpreted it as they will be busy setting up reservations today but we can’t actual use it (drive the car) until tomorrow at the earliest. I might be wrong.
@janine – Its ‘paddle shifting’ which is a variation on an automatic transmition. You won’t have to worry about clutches etc.
@janine – Its ‘paddle shifting’ which is a variation on an automatic transmition. You won’t have to worry about clutches etc.
Just got off the phone with Ray. As you can imagine, they are swamped right now with the responses to this Groupon. So just be patient and they will get your reservations booked. They have a limited staff answering phones right now. So just be patient. They will also be extending the period in which you can use this Groupon.

I agree with Sean R. This is a great deal for car enthusiasts. Its a 200K+ dollar car. You people are hard to satisfy. By trolling, you accomplish nothing but making yourself look bad.
Keep up the good work Ray.
Andrew S thanks for the info!
I can’t wait. I bought 2, will drive back to back if my wife doesn’t want to drive the second hour :)
Ray,
Is the offer available on weekends or are there any time or day restrictions?
Thanks!
Offer has been extended to February.
Steve… It is available on weekends.

Good Morning Groupies -
Thank you for the awesome response to today’s deal. Right now we are working with Ray and the team at The Motorsport Lab to figure out the expiration date extension. One thing that I can tell you is that it will be extended. The goal of this promotion is to give Groupies the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a super premium exotic sportscar, the Ferrari 360 – and like Groupon, The Motorsport Lab is committed to you having a great time.
It is important to note that not every Groupon customer is going to be able to schedule their driving experience next Saturday at 10am. The more flexible that you can be with your appointment time, the better.
As always, Groupon stands behind you and supports your satisfaction with every deal. The Groupon promise is for real and you can check out our commitment to you here: http://groublogpon.com/cities/the-groupon-promise/
I am happy to let you know that we are going to extend the expiration date on this deal 4 months to February 20, 2010 and if the sales keep climbing we will extend it again.
Thank you so much for being Groupon customers and enjoy your drive!
Patrick
Groupon Staff
you mean 2011!!!!
Groupon, I have a question.
If I am from Canada, with a Canadian driver’s license and Canadian proof of insurance, but am planning a vacation to Boston in August, am I still able to participate?
Thanks,
Robson
hi,
can someone please explain something to me: I bought this for my husband, and am waiting for my Groupon certificate. The screen says that my credit card confirmation or the order is pending. What does that mean?? What am I missing here? Do I not get the coupon until some magic number is reached? This is my first time buying something….
thanks!!
They are up to over 1500 bought, so you know they will extend the deadline as they cannot get eveyone in by October. Just watch for more information.
I had the same problem Lynn, check your email and verify your email address. They sent an email with a link to verify it. Then about a 1/2 later I got a confirmation email that it had gone through and a link to go and print the certificate. Hope that helps you.
1600 sold.. 9 per day starting next week that means already 180 days, 6 months exactly and we still have 24 more hours of groupon. This looks like is going to get to 3000 sold.. that 360 is going to be on the road for a full year!!
Oh and 1600 * $89 = $142400.. how much is a brand new 360??
I’ll answer myself, $215000 for a brand new 360 Modena, at $89 per groupon.. 2400 groupons woohoo!!
Now NOBODY crashes the Ferrari before August or I’ll be pissed!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder what it would be like to drive a Ferrari around Boston in the middle of winter (Feb ’11)?? Are there snow dates planned??
Javier just game me an idea on how to get the Lamborghini I’ll never be able to afford. :)
Just a quick question…does anybody know what the maximum height would be to drive a ferrari?
Chris Y……
I did this too… but unfortunately I think your right man… I never thought of that… they better start planning on how to extend the groupon date cuz they are WAY IN over their heads…
Hi Folks:
Just answering questions:
Height requirements – I’m 6’0 and 6’4 could fit in. I had a call from a person who was 6’7 and I said that will probably be too uncomfortable.
As for weather/winter conditions:
We’re going to continue with the driving experiences, unless it’s forecasted to rain and snow. We want people to have a SAFE and FUN experience!
International Drivers:
You need to have a US Driver’s Licence and US Auto Insurance.
No Insurance:
I’m sorry – we don’t have a product you can purchase.
Cheers!

having trouble printing the coupon, it’s a gift to my husband. He clicks on the link he received, but there is no icon to actually print. I am not with him, I can’t se what comes up when it opens. Is he supposed to use file to print it? When I go into my account it shows the recipient has recieved it? Are we missing something obvious?
if anything happens to the 1 f360 you can buy one on cars.com for 60-100k depending on mileage and year!
Ray, I have car insurance but drive an old car so dropped my collision coverage, does that mean I wouldn’t have collision coverage for the ferrari? That seems like a deal breaker… If this is the case, other people should be aware that they will be on the hook for the cost of the car if they have an accident that is their fault.
anyone know if it customary to tip for this? Giving this as a gift and need to know before gifting.
thanks
Hi Folks:
When this deal is closed, we’ll put up an online booking reservation.
Thanks for you patience and support!
It’s been a productive day!
Cheers!
Ray T.
It would be great if you extend the expiration date to Spring 2011.
Groupon GOD convince Ray T.!
Yes, I would love to purchase if I can use in late May 2011.
Many thanks! :)
I cannot believe over 2k people have purchased this. Rolls eyes. $89 would be much better as a donation to a worthy charitable organization.
How noble of you Elphaba X. We should all be like you and spend every free dollar we have on charity.
Hi Folks:
Good morning!
We’re approaching 3000 deals and quite busy.
We’re still trying to get to everyone’s eMails and vMails and appreciate your patience.
We know that everyone is anxious to start booking their experience and we are going to be putting up an online booking system next week.
I’m also going to chat with Groupon on extensions as we’re approaching 3000.
Thank you for your support and your patience.

I want to congrats Ray @ Motorsports. Looks like you guys found yourself a heck of a cash cow.
If this does reach the golden 3,000 sold – revenue is $267,000. Wow. Maybe I should go buy the $92,000 @ Boch Ferrari right now and do my own tour! I can’t imagine it really cost over that much in insurance and maintenance to run this car around 45k miles.
$267k revenue – $92,000 car – $5,750 sales tax = Leaves maintenance, tires, brakes, and car insurance and whatever overhead to $169,250 for 45k miles on the car.
Profit the rest or just sell the car again and even more profit.
Rinse and repeat!
3000 groupons at 9 hours per day including weekends is 333 days.. excluding New England snow days that pretty much puts us in more than 1 year… So how about that Summer 2011 extension? I still couldn’t make my reservation for my birthday in August but I am pretty sure the car is probably already booked until the Fall.
@Jason H: your analysis of the deal is incorrect. You need to multiply the revenue figure by 50%.
Groupon collects $89 per deal sold, but the vendor (Motorsport Lab in this case) usually gets only half of that. The other half is Groupon’s revenue which goes towards running the business. This isn’t a non-profit, so that’s where they make their money. I know this because I am a small business owner and have been approached by both Groupon and BuyWithMe, and their deal structure is the same.
But still, at 3000 deals sold at $89 a pop, Motorsport Lab is raking in roughly $135,000 immediately. Not a bad source of instant cash flow for businesses that could use it.

@Jason H.
Have you no sense of propriety? This forum is intended for Q & A; and not for airing ones pointless (snide [and ignorant]) insights into the personal affairs of the businesses involved.
Go Gabriel. Javier and Jason – Groupons are for conducting deals AND business. Do you expect Motorsports to spend a year accompanying complainers for FREE? Clearly lots of other folks jumped at the ‘deal’. Unless you can go purchase a super high end sports car, this is an opportunity for a little fun for chump change. Elphaba, most people work hard, and do contribute. What entitles you to preach and make snap judgments? It’s a wonder any company wants to do business with Groupon with the unlrealistic expectations of the some of the users out here. It’s the deal is not for you, just move on and leave it alone Puleeze!.
Most of the people that pay for this deal will not get to drive this car. The numbers just don’t add up.
First off, if you believe they can run this thing 9 hours a day, 7 days a week for, at this point, almost a year, you are high.
Then there is the service. Even if they just do an oil change at the recommended interval, they will have to do one every 22 days or so. That is at least a day or two out of service more than once a month. If they do a major service every 15k as recommended, they will lose the car for weeks about every 3-4 months. This doesn’t include brake work, ect.
No doubt 9 different people that don’t know how to use an f1 trans per day will go through a clutch every couple of weeks, ect, ect, ect.
I could go on and on, but the dreamers will continue to believe.
This deal ain’t gonna happen for 80%+ of those that bought it.
I personally own a ferrari and a lamborghini and i’m gonna put up my own deal for $50 for 5k people. get ready!
I guess the upside is these scammers are gonna have their hands full with complaints, repair bills and chargebacks. Not to mention working at least 10hrs a day 7x/week for years. HAHA.
I wonder how many people that bought this play the lottery? I’m thinking 100%. Good luck chumps.
the f1 trans is not a variation on an automatic trans. it is a fully manual trans activated by a very complex and buggy hydraulic system. Did i mention very expensive? this is gonna be hilarious.
PS. did i mention most people will never drive it?
This deal is tempting since I love performance cars, but I’m concerned about getting a booking before the Groupon expires. There’s over 2800 sold already, and the number keeps rising. The Groupon expires Feb 20, 2011 – just 8 months from now. How are the going to accommodate all these people in just 8 months?!? I did some math – 8 months is about 240 days. Even if they did 10 rides per day, 7 days a week, that’s only 2400 rides. And during the winter months, it gets dark early, and most people will want to rent during the daylight hours for pictures – plus who wants to tool around in Ferrari in the snow and ice?? So how are they going to pull this off? They clearly need to extend the expiration date on the Groupon.
Do you think that I Can get a refund?
Hi Folks:
Just wanted to let you know that we extended the voucher for 12 Months! You can now go to www.themotorsportlab.com to book your online reservation. Click on the Purchase link on the top header and there will be an online reservation button.
Thanks for your support!
Happy Father’s Day!
Sorry – a written an error – the voucher will be valid for 12 months from date of this deal.
Answers on Gifting:
If you purchased more than 1 Groupon in your name, you are able to Gift it to someone else. We’re happy to make this a fun gift for everyone. Just make sure to include your Groupon number!
Hey Joe B.,
If you actually have a Ferrari and a Lambo as you claimed, if I were you, I’d be out enjoying those cars rather than wasting your time writing an essay about the people who bought this groupon.
Get a life man.
Groupon/Motorsport Lab,
Since Ray from Motorsport said the voucher would be extended for an additional 12 months, is that from the original expiration date of October 2011 or the current expiration of Feb. 2011? Also, would the voucher that we print out include the new expiration date?
So I missed out on this cause I was not able to get to my mail last week.
I’ll be willing to take a groupon of someone’s hands if they have extras or want to sell.
INterested in buying the Groupon voucher. PLease contact me on drkkalra@yahoo.co.in
This was my Father’s Day gift, and I am beyond excited. This is the ultimate Man’s Dream! I can’t wait to drive a Ferrari; and as for the speed issue, it’s the experience, not just the speed.

Hi Groupon,
I missed this opportunity…. and still wanted to make the purchase. Is there going to be another chance?
Does anyone have an extra that can be sold at the same price to me?
Email: chauncey4u@hotmail.com
Thanks!

Hello Everyone!
Thank you for purchasing The Motorsport Lab Groupon! Good news! Since the response for this Groupon was so excellent, Motorsport Lab has agreed to extend the expiration date!
Your Groupon is now valid for 12 months, expiring on June 26, 2011.
No need to respond, but if you have any issues, feel free to contact us.
Thanks!

370 days to service 3000 people with one car. a physical impossibility. I do marvel at the people involved ability to wish away physics.
Conner, i have 7 cars and can drive them anytime I wish. I have very few opportunities to watch 3000 people get conned. did you jump in on this once in a lifetime opportunity? Let us know how it goes.
My comments are simple statements of fact. facts that can’t be proved wrong. I appreciate the owners enthusiasm and willingness to try to make this happen. but it won’t. It can’t. You’ll see.
oops, forgot to deduct the 16 holidays. only 355 days to service those 3k people. numbers don’t work, even if everybody wants a different day and time.
Joe -
I understand your point about the logistics of the deal, but there is no need for you to attack the 3000 people who purchased the deal. If you REALLY think Groupon is going to offer a deal and not stand behind it than you’re crazy.
Have faith. If someone who purchased this deal is not able to get a day reserved, I am sure it will be just as easy to get their money back via (1) the company offering the deal, (2) Groupon, or (3) their CC company. I think you need to stop worrying about it and go drive your Ferrari. If not, lend me the keys, and I’ll take it for spin. I wouldn’t want the battery to die while you count the number of holidays between now and next year.
Please help!
i signed up for Groupon 3 days ago and bought this ride for my husband’s birthday which is this weekend! somehow my CC didn’t take and i lost out on the deal and now I do not have this cool gift!!!!! i have since re-entered my CC and am ready to purchase. can someone help me please?
Does anyone have this Groupon to sell? I can pay some extra. Please send me an email at rajkumar.chandran@gmail.com
Hey all!
I missed this opportunity- I just sign up. I wanted to make the purchase. Is there going to be another chance?
Does anyone have an extra that can be sold? I’d be willing to pay extra.
Email: john.rosensweig@gmail.com
Hi all, missed this deal! If anyone is looking to sell please email me! jfmccullough.2009@mymail.becker.edu
Spoke with Ray (i think) today and he said that I could book online for the groupon. Unfortunately, I’ve been trying to do this for some time and I see that the groupon is booked until the end of the year. When I told Ray this, he said that maybe we could work out a deal for “after end of business for an additional charge”. Didn’t even ask him what the charge would be. Would really like to get my money back if I can’t use it this year. Is this possible? That extra charge thing doesn’t sound right. I kind of feel taken. :-(
To be fair, I just went back on to try to book and found something in November that I have to put in the groupon number for. My bad. Sorry guys. I was really just hoping to get my husband in around his birthday. Didn’t follow directions. MY BAD. although, I still want to return it.
My husband had a great experience with the Motorsport Lab! He thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to drive the stunning Ferrari around Boston.
I am responding to a recent post regarding tipping. My husband did end up tipping the instructor $20. I think the norm is to tip on par with other service types of industries, which is 10-20%, though I always tip 20%.
My husband would definitely love to experience this treat again. I am THINKING about getting behind the wheel, but I am still too nervous! Maybe next time….
Just wanted to say this was well worth it. We drove around Boston and Cambridge for about 45 minutes. The car was a joy to drive.
I hope they do this one again. This would make a wonderful gift for someone.

Hey Everyone!
We wanted to let you know that the Ferrari was involved in a wreck this past week and is currently undergoing repairs. We ask for your patience as Motorsport gets the engine revving again; meanwhile, they are happy to reschedule all driving experiences and apologize for the inconvenience.
Drive on,
Lindsay

Is the ferrari fixed and can we get a refund for it?
I think Joe B. was right – even though they extended the date, who wants to wait a year for something they paid for already? I want a refund.
I didn’t know the car was in an accident. But, I finally had my driving experience with the Motorsport Lab last week. It was AWESOME! I understand the frustration with waiting a few months to take advantage of this deal, however, you will not be disappointed when your turn comes around. It’s kind of like the time I had to reserve a table several months in advance for Nobu — worth the wait. I will definitely be back for more next year! If you want a refund, I will get in quicker next year. : )
I’ve tried their online booking twice. First time – I couldn’t book a date that worked with my schedule. Now, I’m more flexible with my schedule and I can’t even book until next year.
It leaves me with little confidence that I will even get this booked next year by June, even if I am more than reasonable with my scheduling. I am already willing to take a weekday morning slot.
Has anyone heard anything from Motorsport about when scheduling for next year will open up?
I purchased in June and have been trying to schedule since July.
Anyone have better luck with getting an open spot by calling instead of emailing?
Im getting pretty annoyed with them. If they’ve made potentially $250,000 off of the deal, they owe it to the waitlisters to email once in a while with a status update.
This is kind of ridiculous. They send an email every once in a while and you get about 1 days worth of notice that a spot (or a few spots) have opened up. Then you have to be the first to respond to get that spot.
Anyone know how to get a refund?
Is it mandatory to tip the 10 or 20% or can you tip what you feel is appropriate?
Any suggestions? Thanks!
I think around 20% makes sense, as for services I usually tip 20%. I just used a voucher for a haircut…paid $30 for the voucher (valued at $65) and left a $20 tip because I was very happy with the service. So, I actually ended up paying 30% of the actual value…I think 20% makes sense though. I almost always tip at least 20% when I go out to eat. What do other people think?
I’m so disappointed I wasted my money on this. Bought this groupon for my dad who lives in TN as a father’s day gift since he’s a big car enthusiast. He was really excited and booked a trip to come visit and drive the car in Nov. Emailed to schedule 3 weeks in advance (on the groupon it says call 4 days ahead) and was told everything was booked until ’11. What a joke, either groupon or motorsports labs should have reached out to the people who wasted their money on this offer to at least let then know that the terms had changed. not at all impressed with either company at this point.
Steven T. if you figure out how to get a refund please let me know…
To the people that have already done this driving experience: Did you have to pay additional tax on this deal? I don’t like that they didn’t disclose this until I booked my appointment this morning. It feels really fishy to me. EVERY Groupon says that it doesn’t cover tax or gratuity, but if you buy a Groupon for 4 cupcakes somewhere, they NEVER ask you to pay for the tax. You just get the cupcakes and go on your way. I feel like they should disclose this, because now, with “tax and gratuity” (which I would NEVER think to pay for on something like this… other than a small tip), my $99 deal has become a $250 deal. NOT so awesome, guys.
All I have to add is that Groupon is a fine company and will make things right. I’m still displeased with Motorsport Labs but feel Groupon customer service is a rare gem. If you have a problem, contact them but please don’t abuse their willingness to help the customer.
Steven, I agree with you completely. Groupon’s customer service and practices have always been top notch. I am disappointed in Motorsport Lab. I feel like they’re taking advantage of the popularity of their Groupon and exploiting the “fine print”. Oh sure, you’ll pay the extra $130+, because you were incredibly fortunate to even get an appointment…
When my father in-law called to book this a few months ago they said that they were completely booked and weren’t extending the expiration so I had to call groupon and get a refund. Huge bummer.
I’m not surprised that they’re trying to charge extra and weasel out of having to fufill all of the Groupons they’ve sold. This is not a respectable business, and in all fairness you’re probably better off losing the cost of the Groupon then taking the chance of getting in the car with them.

I have 2 vouchers that I need to sell. I’m having surgery soon and wont be able to use them. I will sell them seperately. Please contact me about them.

great deal if you can get a reservation that works for you. some quick calcs i did:
1000 min groupons expiring oct 20 implies:
at least 1000 bookings over the next 124 days = min of 8 per day
with each booking taking 1 hr that’s 8 hrs per car per day and that is assuming back to back w/o layover time which is not realistic. i would expect them to put at least 30 mins between appts which then makes it 12 hrs a day the are running which seems alot. even with 2 f360s thats averaging 6 hrs a day everyday for the next 4 months! is that sustainable?
also, that is assuming weekdays which is unrealistic since i would expect the weekends to be the most popular and not convenient for most ppl, esp if you need to reserve 4+ days out.
would love to hear other people’s opinions.
