Great way to promote obesity. No thanks.

Jeremy S.

Really?

Laura L.

I think it is a great deal. You don’t have to drink the soda or eat the endless supply of popcorn, but I have teenagers and it is a good groupon.

John B.

please use google maps!

Even if you get a small popcorn or a diet coke it’s worth it, not like we’re required to pig out!

Michelle E.

Laura, I agree! When I go to the movies I usually get the kid pack b/c it’s better portion sizes, but I’m getting this groupon b/c of the great price! I probably won’t get through half the popcorn or soda, but this is still a great deal! No one’s forcing you to buy the groupon or eat the food…you just get more for your money. And everyone’s happy.

Sherri J.

Neat Groupon! Thanks! I will enjoy a movie and eat all of the popcorn that I can! LOL

G

I think this is a great deal anyway you look at it, as mentioned in the other postings, just because you get a deal to eat all you want, lets use our heads, you don’t have too. I love it!

Hey Everyone-

I am one of the new owners of the theater. We really have upgraded the place and no you don’t have to eat. I usually just get a small bag and try to make it last as long as possible. You also can skip the butter!

By the way, I thought I would post some of our coming movies so you can plan your visit better:

Resident Evil 3D
Alpha and Omega
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps
Legend of The Guardians: Owls
The Social Network
Secretariat
Megamind
Harry Potter
Tangled
Tron Legacy
Yogi Bear
Gulliver’s Travels

That takes us through the end of the year! Hope to see you soon.

Jon

I am trying to buy 3 admissions but everytime I try to type in 3 the number automatically goes to 10. What am I doing wrong?

Brian G.

Jamie – any confusion please email support@groupon.com for assistance!

Brian @ Groupon

What exactly does a “Movies Golden Ticket” mean? Does this mean new releases are included? How does this deal compare to paying for a Child admission?

Glenn S.

Yes, Ji, the Gold are good the day it comes out; Silver you have to wait until it’s been out for a couple of weeks (I don’t like seeing movies when they’ve just come our anyway; hate packed theaters).

A word of advice to those that wouldn’t take advantage of pc/drinks, there are many places you can find the Gold ones for as little $7-8 – if you’re a AAA member or Entertainment book owner; on ebay; sometimes on CL (and if you don’t mind having to wait to use them, I’ve gotten the Silver ones for as little as $6-6.50

Glenn,

The tickets you are talking about are from the big theater companies. We are a small independent local business so we really only have 1 “Golden Ticket”. The only reason we call it that is as a reference to the “Golden Ticket” in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We don’t sell these passes and treat them like a voucher as if someone paid full price for the ticket. If you use these after 6:00PM they are actually worth $9 each. So in essence this deal is for a ticket and $1 AYCE popcorn and soda.

Glenn S.

Oh, ok, got ya – was you were one of the chains; sorry.

Help! I am losing faith in Groupon.

Groupon doesn’t deliver on their promises to “gladly refund you for your purchase” or “we are committed to making it up to you” when a Groupon vendor doesn’t deliver.
Take a look at my recent email exchange with Nate Sherman of Groupon support staff. He promised to have a supervisor call me several days ago. Still hasn’t happened. And when I call Groupon’s customer support number, I get unceremoniously disconnected without warning after several minutes of waiting and being told my call will be handled in the order received.
Can I get a call from a groupon supervisor to resolve my issue?

Jim,

I don’t work for Groupon but I do own the business behind this offer. If anyone has any problem with this offer we will stand by it 100%.

I will tell my groupon rep about your post and try to help if I can, but this is all new to me.

Jim R: You experience is very different than mine. I have never had to call Groupon however all my email questions and even request for refund were granted immediately without difficulty.

Lila A.

Jon G., it’s great to have an owner of the business upon which the Groupon is based actually answering questions in the comments. Kudos to you for doing so!

And since you are doing so — I’ve got a question: I am what they euphemistically call a ‘person of size’. Do your new leather theatre seats provide ample room or are they the small size of, say, an airline seat, which I believe is 17" across? How do your seats rate?

Jon G.

Lila,

I think you will love the room you will have. Our seats are 23" between the arm rests and our row spacing is the largest in Montgomery County. If you come in and it is not comfortable we will refund your money.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Jon

Hi Jon,
I just picked up three of these at the last minute. How will I go about using them? Do I show at the theater and use them to purchase a ticket for the show of my choice? I was looking forward to using these for Harry Potter. So I am just trying to figure out how to arrange that. Thanks

Jami S.

I just left the theater and the seats are really quite nice. However, I was terribly surprise and frustrated when I arrived with my 3 children (having bought 4 of these), and was told they won’t use the theater will not accept the groupon App. Since I did not have a paper print out in my hand, my 40$ stays in my groupon and I shelled out the money for 4 tickets and 3 kids packs. It is really unacceptable that wasn’t stipulated on the Groupon up front. I know I could have walked away and not spent the money, but do you have kids you’ve promised a movie to?

Kathy L.

does anyone know if this Groupon was cancelled? Thought I got an email to that effect from Groupon, but can’t locate the note…
