The ninth annual MS Soirée takes place on Saturday, November 10, from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Swissôtel. The semiformal cocktail party will have live music and dancing, gourmet food from up to 30 local chefs, free casino games, a silent auction, and a raffle drawing to win a stay at a Hawaiian condo. Raffle tickets do not include admission, and participants do not need to be present to win. The proceeds from the event benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter.
Multiple Solutions, the Greater Illinois Chapter's Junior Board
A debilitating illness that affects more than 400,000 people across the country, multiple sclerosis is a formidable opponent for even the strongest people. Fortunately, the do-gooders behind the National Multiple Sclerosis Society pair their fighting spirit and dedication to scientific breakthroughs with something even more powerful: bushels and bushels of cash. In every state, its members volunteer their time to advocate, educate, and raise money to find a cure. One of the larger chapters is the Greater Illinois Chapter, which spans 73 Illinois counties. The chapter’s signature event is the annual MS Soirée, a cocktail party and casino night featuring glittering gowns and enticing live music. While the event’s venue changes from time to time, past bashes have taken place at plush downtown hotels such as theWit, Swissôtel, and the Hard Rock Hotel.
