The Rad Run

On May 11, hundreds will gather at Sollevato Vineyard in Junction City to test their endurance against one of the state’s toughest 5K obstacle courses. Old tires, teetering stacks of hay, and other obstructions litter The Rad Run’s inaugural course, along with lots of mud. Race participants scramble across each obstacle while local bands play live music. Once they cross the finish line, they can enjoy the rest of the concert at The Rad Run’s beer and wine garden.

Awards winners are announced throughout the day after each heat, and there are plenty of things to do in between each presentation. Beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase all day. Racers also will receive bananas, oranges, chocolate milk, doughnut holes, bagels, and other snacks to replenish any energy spent on angrily shaking their fists at haystacks. A kids’ tent will keep tots occupied with a bounce house, mini obstacle course, and craft activities. The entire event benefits seven local nonprofits, including Relay for Life of Eugene/Springfield and the Bethel Education Foundation.

The Groupon Guide to: Sucker Punches

People love a good, old-fashioned fist to the face, especially when they least expect it. Here are some opportune moments to deliver one of the best pranks in the book—the sucker punch:

  • When the person is looking down at the ice-cream cone they just dropped on the sidewalk

  • When the person is watching their child get on the school bus for the first time

  • When the person is staring tearfully at a defaced gravestone

  • When the person falls back into their chair involuntarily after hearing the jury’s decision

  • When the person turns back from looking where you just told them to look (over there, at a barrel of pets going over a waterfall)

  • When the person is asleep

When’s the best time to punch someone in court? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
