The Harbor at Rockwall transforms on Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, September 29th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their inaugural boat show. The normally peaceful waters come to life as stunt performers the Metroplex Mavericks Show Ski Team show off tricks on water skis, crowds gather to view vintage wooden boats, and the adventurous try out water-propelled flyboards.
The Rockwall Boat Show
The Harbor at Rockwall prides itself on its small town appeal, with European-styled buildings framing sunsets quietly enjoyed by diners on a restaurant patio. The Rockwall Boat Show temporarily changes all that, though, as crowds cheer on stunt performers as the leap, flip, and form human pyramids while on waterskis. After catching the stunt show, visitors congregate around the antique wooden boats from 1930-1970s, including a Yellow Jacket Boat, or head to the vendors to see the modern vessels for sale.
Boat captains and stuntmen provide guests with the chance to get out on the water themselves. The captains run sailing demos around the placid waters of Lake Ray Hubbard. They also demonstrate the use of water-propelled flyboards, which use compressed jets of water to allow their wearer to fly, dive like a dolphin, and defeat fire by aggressively kicking it.
