The Stampede takes place on Saturday, May 18, with waves beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing in half-hour increments until 4 p.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m., and participants are encouraged to arrive 30–90 minutes before their race time. Each runner receives an official The Stampede T-shirt and a commemorative race number, as well as a medal, water, and fruit slices upon the completion of the race.

The Stampede

Though many timed races focus on endurance and speed, The Stampede race series emphasizes a different element: fun. During its various 5K runs, participants of all ability levels test their balance and strength by surmounting obstacles and give their minds a workout with puzzles around the city. Designed for all ages with an emphasis on family participations, many of the races have two courses—one for racers aged 6–13 and one for those 14 and older. At the end of the run, runners celebrate victory or bask in personal accomplishments at post-race parties complete with food, drinks, and live music.
