In a Nutshell

“The Mentalist” Gerry McCambridge performs astounding feats of mind reading and magic, all the while delivering humorous quips

The Fine Print

Magic shows fill onlookers with a sense of wonder, much like watching a parade of Disneyland floats crash into the Grand Canyon. Get astonished with this GrouponLive deal to see The Mentalist Live at the Saxe Theater, located in the Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. All seating is general admission, and the performance takes place nightly at 7:30 p.m., excluding Wednesdays. Choose between the following options:

  • For $15, you get one ticket (up to a $62.68 value, including all fees).
  • For $25, you get two tickets (up to a $125.36 value, including all fees).

Comedian, magician, and mind reader Gerry McCambridge, seen on the NBC reality show Phenomenon, astounds audiences with his baffling skills of precognition and intuition. For more than 30 years, Gerry’s cranial ramrod into the doors of perception has flummoxed crowds, leading to a Vegas tenure, Broadway raves, and a lifetime exemption from jury duty. Using his detective DNA and magician’s panache, Gerry prods behind audiences' gray-matter curtains in a performance that has helped him become the first mentalist to win the coveted Merlin Award from the International Magicians Society. Due to the inherent sauciness lurking in sulci, the show is recommended for audiences 16 and older.

V Theater

Producer and V Theater owner David Saxe was born into Vegas show business, raised by a mother who danced at Les Folies Bergere and a father who led the band for the Rat Pack. The Saxe family’s entertainment legacy continues with the V Theater. The venue runs its 12 concurrent shows in a 40,000-square-foot space divided into four showrooms on multiple floors, each retaining an intimate feeling with seating that brings the audience closer to performers. The V Theater’s current shows range from a seven-act, family-friendly Ultimate Variety Show to Marc Savard’s Comedy Hypnosis, where Savard persuades audience members to hilariously dance, act like animals, and ghostwrite his autobiography.

The Groupon Guide to: Knowing When to Quit

Sometimes it's better just to quit now than to see it through and find out what it feels like to be a winner (they're eternally happy). Here are some examples of times when you should quit:

  • You're ahead.
  • You're last.
  • You feel like you might throw up.
  • They're giving personal pan pizzas to everyone who quits.
  • Your mentor has downgraded you from "protégé" to "ongoing frustration."
  • You have a chance to create a new identity for yourself in a small New England town if you just walk away now.
  • Quitting is "your thing," according to all of your past fiancés.
  • No one wants you to win because you're a villain, and for you, winning means selling a bunch of elementary schools to an evil corporation that will turn them into recycling centers.

Hi, I'm Stiven Knatts, and I'm glad to be here in Hidden Town, Rhode Island.
