At the start of the outing, experienced drifting instructors of American Controlled Driving Academy in conjunction with Thunderdrift brief students on the sport of drifting and give a brief safety intensive. Lessons begin with two five-minute car-control sessions with the student behind the wheel, during which instructors teach students to slide their tires through drift circles and figure eights. Following a short break, instructors guide students as they screech through laps on the drift course. Then professional drivers steer their four-wheeled steeds on one high-speed lap of the drift track while participants ride in the passenger's seat. Each session includes use of a drift-capable car, as well as a photo of the experience.

American Controlled Driving Academy

Staffed by a team of experienced driving coaches and racers, American Controlled Driving Academy thrills audiences with Formula Pro-Am races and stunt-driving classes on the winding track of Thunderhill Raceway. The 3-mile, 15-turn, FIA-certified course boasts challenging turns and crossovers ideal for alternating instructional skidding events and competitions, and during free days allows drivers to practice their techniques without having to avoid supermarket shoppers and grocery carts. Additionally, the program gathers seasoned instructors to bestow drifting fundamentals to all levels of drivers, using a step-by-step teaching process in a student-friendly environment.
