During the 10-day National Home Show & Canada Blooms, visitors can peruse the wares of more than 700 vendors, browsing kitchen and bath exhibits, planning home-design projects, and touring elaborately landscaped gardens. Celebrity guests such as Paul Lafrance of HGTV Canada’s Decked Out and Leave it to Bryan host Bryan Baeumler are on hand to lend advice to homeowners. Gardening experts share their design tidbits during seminars such as “Inspiring Flowers” and “Trees for Small Spaces.”

Marketplace Events

For more than 60 years, the National Home Show has unfurled a bevy of home-decor and remodeling accoutrements, along with a slew of celebrity demonstrations and industry experts. This year, Canada Blooms, a flower-and-garden festival founded in 1996, joins the party, inviting visitors to peruse its blossoming slate of aromatic bouquets and verdant gardens. Though the show flourishes with myriad seminars and exhibits, it also contains buzzed-about highlights, such as a Hockey Fan Cave designed by Jackie Morra and an Urban Barn design competition that awards the winner his or her own booth at next year’s event.

The Groupon Guide to: Knowing When to Quit

Sometimes it's better just to quit now than to see it through and find out what it feels like to be a winner (they're eternally happy). Here are some examples of times when you should quit:

  • You're ahead.
  • You're last.
  • You feel like you might throw up.
  • They're giving personal pan pizzas to everyone who quits.
  • Your mentor has downgraded you from "protégé" to "ongoing frustration."
  • You have a chance to create a new identity for yourself in a small New England town if you just walk away now.
  • Quitting is "your thing," according to all of your past fiancés.
  • No one wants you to win because you're a villain, and for you, winning means selling a bunch of elementary schools to an evil corporation that will turn them into recycling centers.

Hi, I'm Stiven Knatts, and I'm glad to be here in Hidden Town, Rhode Island.
