Movies, once silent and black and white, have evolved to include sound, colour, and a visible spectrum of emotions, also known as "drama." Be moved by moving pictures with today’s Groupon: for $22, you get two adult tickets to a regular screening at the Toronto International Film Festival (up to a $44.50 value, including HST), starting on September 13.

The Toronto International Film Festival sates movie lovers with more than 300 films from more than 60 countries for 11 days each September. Many screenings give guests the opportunity to witness emerging and master directors and cast members from Canada and beyond conduct question-and-answer sessions about their films and defend their ever-scant use of vampires. The festival’s 19 expert programmers, who hail from six continents, tuck selections into easily navigable programme categories such as Masters, Mavericks, and Midnight Madness.

As a public film festival that’s been compared to Cannes and Sundance, TIFF Festival projects movies on 27 separate screens in 10 downtown Toronto venues. Lingering year-round after the confetti has settled, the permanent TIFF Festival Bell Lightbox—the festival’s epicentre—packs numerous theatres, galleries, studios, and restaurants into its trim belly, despite a perpetual popcorn diet. Film selections are subject to availability.

Though the box office provides discounts for seniors, students, and children, this offer still represents the best deal available.

Groupon Says

The Groupon Guide to: Lying

Although honesty is always the best policy, sometimes lying is an even better policy. Here's a look at different types of lies:

  • White Lies: Popular white lies include "You look good in those jeans" and "Man has landed on the moon."
  • Insurance Fraud: If your car is totalled in an accident, you can get extra insurance money if you claim that the car was made from priceless Picassos.
  • Inaccurate Medical Diagnoses: With medical tests more expensive than ever, it's not rare for doctors to hand out diagnoses such as Complainer's Blood and D.B.S. (Doctor-Bothering Syndrome).
  • Fake Weddings: Following up the "I do" with a hearty "Pssssssych!" is this season's hottest practical joke.
  • Perjury: If you lie in court, the floor below the witness stand will automatically open up and drop you on a pile of bricks.
