Tracie Hofstetter at Mane Event Salon

Born and bred in Sebastopol, salon professional Tracie Hofstetter has been polishing the nails and coifs of locals for the past 21 years. Today, she can be found working alongside the other hairstylists at Mane Event Salon, where turquoise salon chairs add a pop of color to chic, minimalist styling stations, and a mini chandelier casts a soft glow over sleek, black nail stations. Beyond cutting and styling the strands of women, men, and children, the salon also offers massage therapy, waxing services, and facials. The nailcare menu ranges from basic polish changes to Hawaiian manicures, which dress each digit in its own hula skirt.

The Groupon Guide to: Knowing When to Quit

Sometimes it's better just to quit now than to see it through and find out what it feels like to be a winner (they're eternally happy). Here are some examples of times when you should quit:

  • You're ahead.
  • You're last.
  • You feel like you might throw up.
  • They're giving personal pan pizzas to everyone who quits.
  • Your mentor has downgraded you from "protégé" to "ongoing frustration."
  • You have a chance to create a new identity for yourself in a small New England town if you just walk away now.
  • Quitting is "your thing," according to all of your past fiancés.
  • No one wants you to win because you're a villain, and for you, winning means selling a bunch of elementary schools to an evil corporation that will turn them into recycling centers.

Hi, I'm Stiven Knatts, and I'm glad to be here in Hidden Town, Rhode Island.
