They wanted a physical copy for their records. Pretty irritating.
  • Shellac manicure lasts up to 14 days & won't chip or smudge
  • File, shape & polish nails
  • Style, cut & colour or highlights

When your stomach is unhappy, you get a stomachache, but when your head is unhappy, it drags you around by your tongue and makes your mouth hold a pen to write yourself an angry letter. Keep your noggin happy with today's Groupon to Trade Secrets in Bloor West Village. Choose between the following options:

  • For $34, you get a pedicure (a $35 value) and Shellac manicure (a $35 value; a $70 total value).
  • For $35, you get a wash, cut, and style (a $45 value), plus colour (a $55 value) or partial highlights (a $50 value; up to a $100 total value).

Trade Secrets creates an indulgent atmosphere for fashioning new styles and rejuvenated spirits with a variety of salon services. Mani-pedi specialists spruce up wayward nails and tame rebellious hand models by filing, shaping, and polishing top and bottom tensomes to create aesthetically pleasing phalanges in the colour of choice. Unpainted paws then undergo the Shellac manicure, offering up to 14 days of chip-free appendage art. Nail technicians paint finger shields, then set the polish under heat lamps to seal in shine and elicit nail-biting confessions.

Stylists tame tendrils with a shampooing and haircut, crafting 'dos that can frame a face better than Colonel Mustard after a candlestick-thumping spree. Hair-colouring services or partial highlights infuse locks with luxurious hues, creating multitonal tresses that crave to flirtatiously flip in the wind.

Awful. Left without finishing the mani/pedi. She was late and rude and awful.

They should respect people's time. I missed a wedding because my hair wouldn't not curl. I told the hairdresser that my hair only curls if done with a straightening iron. Her response was " I'm the professional. Let me worry about how to do it." she put curlers in my hair and used a curling iron and my hair was pretty much straight. I left the salon 10min after the wedding started and missed the entire wedding. I love my haircut but wouldn't go back because of the lack of respect for me, my time and my recommendation on how my hair works.

It was pretty ghetto, and the maicure / pedicure was just a polish change. I could have done that at home.

Never. The owner is very rude -- to customers and staff alike. I don't really believe he respects women very much. My time is worth more than he thinks. I have been booking the same appointment since I purchased the coupon in August. I have had the appointment cancelled, rebooked and even with an appointment had to wait almost an hour. I went in again for the second part of my treatment (facial). I was told by the owner I cannot split the mani/pedi and facial. His employee told me it was fine and much better since it's difficult to book a 3 hour time slot at once. He asked me who the employee was. I had no idea. Then I had to wait another 1/2 hour to an hour for the facial. I was livid. A customer came in looking for an eyebrow waxing while I was talking to him. He told her to come back in 2 1/2 hours. Again, she saw 3 people working on one person. She was a regular customer and left angry. I explained to him that he should be nicer to his groupon customers since it is an intro to his salon. He said 'am I telling him how to run his business'. I said yes. I can run it much better and nicer. He cancelled my appointment on the spot and told me to get my money back from groupon. That is what I did. This man should not be in business. Please don't use this location of Tradesecrets in the future. This was my first experience with groupon and am a bit hesitant to purchase another service. I have a paintball session pending and am nervous about it.
