The Great Grapes festival swings into action on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, from noon to 6 p.m. During the festivities, visitors enjoy ample time sampling wares, sitting in on cooking demos, and watching live performances. Specialty pavilions this year include a grilling pavilion, an olive-oil pavilion, and a wine-aroma pavilion, adding to each day’s slate of flavorful stops. Although not included in this Groupon, customers can purchase a tasting ticket for $10 that grants unlimited wine samples and a souvenir glass, or a VIP tasting ticket for $20 that also includes an event T-shirt. Tasting tickets are limited for each day.

Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival

On Saturday, August 16, mugs will fill with unlimited tastes of beers by New Belgium Brewing Company, Goose Island, and an array of other breweries at the Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival. For an additional fee, attendees can indulge in an all-you-care-to-taste menu that includes succulent Old Bay–seasoned crab, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and potato chips. A variety of other snacks will be available for purchase à la carte, and event staff dish out free watermelon slices throughout the day.

In the midst of all the dining and drinking, local and regional bands such as Laissez Foure and Junkyard Saints will entertain crowds with soulful tunes. In response to crowds at previous festivals, organizers have split the event into two sessions, allowing more room to breathe or perform gymnastics floor routines of gratitude.
