Commonly Asked Questions

Hello, I have a few questions... Can in-pool instructions be done while you are pregnant (3rd trimester)? Also, I see that this deal expires on March 20th, are we required to complete the entire course by that time? Is there a set schedule for the course, once we start it will we have to commit to it each weekend until completion or is it more flexible? Thanks, Marija

Hi Marija, If you check out the PADI medical statement http://mytascuba.com/uploads/padimedicaldrrelease.pdf you will see there is a question regarding pregnancy. If you check yes to any of them the instructor will need a doctors note saying it is safe for you to participate. While I have taught several women who were pregnant, each person is different and it needs to be a decision you and your doctor make together. The deal ends March 20th; however we will honor a grupon anytime! Lastly, we offer 3 classes per month and when you decide you are ready to sign up, you simply need to commit to one of these set dates. If for some reason you miss a day, we will help you reschedule to another class, but there is a fee. You will get a better education and have more fun if you are able to stick with the schedule and finish with your classmates.

Hi, Does the participant in this need to be 18? Is there an age limit?

marushka S. asked 8 months, 4 days, 18 hours, and 14 minutes ago - 1 answer

John R.

Short answer, no. Minimum age for a regular Open Water certification is 15. *If they are 10-14 then they can earn a Junior Open Water certification, which can be converted to normal once they reach 15. If this is the case, please call the shop first, it should be fine but just want to make sure they can swim well.

I have my own equipment can I use it and pay the $129 to get certified. All my ger has recent maintenance and is in good operation. I do not want to have to rent gear I already own. Thanks ray

Absolutely you can use your own gear! We just ask that you bring in a recent service tag/receipt or get it checked out by our tech. This way the instructor knows its reliable, safe, and doesn't have to worry about a problem while in the ocean. You will still need to have a new PADI Open Water book and RDP. This is a rule from PADI to ensure that every student does their own work and doesn't share/copy answers.

More Questions and Answers

Couple of questions..when do I have to purchase by, is all the gear included, suit etc. and can I invite a friend for the same price? thanks.

Sorry it took so long to get back, we were out of the office for a bit there. For hygienic reasons, you need to have your own: mask, fins, snorkel, boots and gloves. The rest can be rented from us or, if you have your own that is even better. If your friends do not want to purchase the Grupon, they can contact us directly and we will sign them up here for the same price assuming its within a week after the grupon ends. It's more fun for the students when they do it together with friends, so I recommend you bring a buddy! Hope this helps
