$20 for Tropical Rum Festival Admission for Two, Including Drinks ($40 value)

On Saturday, January 19 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., libations will flow freely at the first annual Tropical Rum Festival, held in the Meyer Amphitheatre. Hosted by Lanso of Kulcha Shock, the festival—which celebrates the diversity of rums—features reggae, dubstep, and hip-hop beats from artists such as Damaged Goods and Adonai. For more information, see the event flier.

Tropical Rum Festival

Though Christopher Columbus is best known for discovering America, he also inadvertently spawned West Palm Beach’s Tropical Rum Festival. Columbus introduced sugar cane to the Caribbean region on his famous voyages, and sugar’s byproduct, molasses, is what gets distilled into rum. The festival celebrates the now-popular spirit’s diverse styles. And as rum flows freely, revelers can dance to reggae, dubstep and hip-hop tunes, rather than the strange music of the late 1400s, which was created by tickling ducks.

The Groupon Guide to: Scaring Yourself

Whether you're attempting to cure hiccups or simply bringing your heart rate up to trick people into thinking you're capable of love, there are many methods to giving yourself a good scare:

  • Stare into the cold, black, unfeeling eyes of a dolphin.
  • Blindfold yourself while someone plays an MP3 that sounds like fireworks going off dangerously close to you.
  • Look at some pictures of air pollution from a 1970s textbook (air pollution is still around, but it was scarier back then).
  • Try to maintain eye contact while shaking the hand of your more successful father.
  • The next time you travel by air, imagine the worst—the airplane could be full of Chuckies.

What are the most popular ways to scare yourself? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
