$20 for $40 Worth of Japanese Cuisine

The menu includes maki, such as the Spider roll filled with soft-shell crab and topped with caviar ($9) and the Rock 'N Roll layered with tuna, salmon, and avocado ($15), as well as beef or pork dumplings ($7), tuna tartare ($8.50), and okonomiyaki with baked wheat, shrimp, bacon, and octopus ($12).

Tsunami Sushi & Lounge

When it first opened in March of 2001, Tsunami Sushi & Lounge was on the vanguard of local businesses and shops to settle and thrive in the 14th street corridor near Thomas Circle. Today, the ultramodern lounge relishes in its place as a nerve center for nightlife, treating guests to fresh maki and nigiri, as well as lip-smacking udon, steak, and tempura dishes. Strings of sparkling crystal globes form huge overhanging chandeliers that cast twinkling light upon brick walls, eggshell-white armchairs, and black leather benches. Guests follow a glass-lined staircase up to the restaurant's second story, gazing out upon the bustling streetscapes and poorly hidden bald spots on the sidewalk below.

The Groupon Guide to: Hotel Amenities

Most people choose a hotel based on what amenities it offers and how many of its TV channels show a live feed of the local city council. Here are some of the amenities that you might be lucky enough to experience on your next trip:

  • Pool full of people who can swim but not as well as you
  • Room service delivered directly to the hotel restaurant
  • Dogs that will keep your sheets warm when you're not using the bed and special electric jackets that will keep the dogs warm
  • Spa where they at least brush your teeth for you instead of just squishing your muscles
  • Unlimited wigs, so you can really feel like you're escaping
  • Rooms where families can go to yell at each other
  • An in-room safe for keeping items so valuable you would never trust yourself to touch them
  • Free wireless Internet that only goes to the hotel's email provider, Hotelwhispers.net
