The Ugly Sweater Run kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, at Washington Square. Clad in their gaudiest holiday finery, runners chart an untimed 5K course fueled by hot chocolate before race officials dole out wacky awards. Each entry includes a custom vintage knit hat, unlimited hot chocolate, two hard ciders or lagers for runners age 21+, and a mustache; kids younger than 8 race for free. Each runner is encouraged bring along a new toy to put under the race's huge Christmas tree and the haul is later donated to the local Toys for Tots chapter.
