New boot campers must complete a 60-minute orientation session before beginning their classes. During this session, instructors teach proper form and breathing and assess clients’ health and fitness to chart body fat and lean muscle. The orientation concludes with a 30-minute version of the boot-camp class and a final assessment that ensures participants are prepared for their sessions.
When they start boot camps, participants receive a workout bag filled with sandbags for resistance training, a scoop for filling their bags, a fresh towel, and bottled water. On the beach, instructors lead intense regimens that combine circuit-training moves, body-weight exercises, resistance training, and cardio for an ever-changing, total-body workout.
