The Ultimate Mud Warrior mud run takes place on Sunday, April 21, and features more than 25 manmade obstacles. Participants run, walk, and crawl over 400 acres of muddy track and frigid lakes on their way to claim their custom medal and race-bandana while the atmosphere pulses with live music.

Ultimate Mud Warrior Aftermath 5k

Every year, the Ultimate Mud Warrior Aftermath 5k unfolds on the same 400-acre property––an expansive piece of land with terrain that ranges from lakes and hills to clay and sand. Beyond that constant, however, the course is transformed from year to year, with newly bulldozed trails and newly built obstacles.

The obstacles are kept hush-hush before the event to add an element of surprise. However, obstacles can include structures such as waterslides, mud pits, and narrow bridges. Situated to maximize spectator involvement, the obstacles don’t aim to scare off participants—competitors can opt out of any that are too difficult. To further accommodate racers of all fitness levels, both running and walking are encouraged, and everyone who reaches the course’s end is honored with a finisher’s medal and a stern handshake from Wilford Brimley.
