is this discover scuba session a “pool-only” session or will there a shallow open water part to it?
Carolee- Something similar happened to me the other day. I found that I had two accounts- one where I logged in with facebook and another when I logged in with my email. I thought the accounts would be connected but they weren’t. Maybe that’s what’s going on with your account too? Good luck!
Is this scuba dive in the pool and the ocean? OR just in the pool.

This is a pool dive, not worth it. From their site (http://www.houseofscuba.com/category/DSD.html):
The Discover Scuba Sessions will take place at one of the pool facilities utilized by House of Scuba. The minimum class size in order to conduct the class is 4 participants, while the maximum class size is 12 participants. Each class will be taught by a Certified and Insured Scuba Instructor, and we will provide one to two Certified and Insured Dive Masters to assist with the pool sessions as necessary.
As Kyndra stated, this is available for free from Sports Chalet. They offer it at their San Marcos and Point Loma locations.
This is a Discover Scuba Diving pool session. This is a class designed for people who want to try scuba diving, in a controled environment. This class does not complete the PADI open water scuba diver coarse, but some of the skills performed during this class can be used towards a PADI open water diver coarse. This class covers a lot of the gear, safety, what to do, what not to do, and let’s you feel what it is like to breath underwater!
In addition, for those interested in completing a full Scuba certification, HouseofScuba will apply 50% of the Discover Scuba class fees to an Open Water class (a Groupon special). We will also give all Groupon customers an instore discount for any items they may want to purchase during their discover scuba class or open water class. There are no weight restrictions for this class, but the class does require some physical strength.
If you are already a diver and are looking for dive buddies, or someone to dive with, send us an email or give us a call. We have dive masters and customers diving all the time who are looking for more buddies to dive with. We are a company who truely enjoy’s what we do and want everyone else to enjoy it as much as we do! Our instructors are often putting together social fun dives whenever they aren’t teaching. This is a truely unique and amazing sport/adventure.

My husband and I have never been scuba diving or had a course. We wish to get certified before our trip to Hawaii in August. How would this groupon help us achieve that? Is there a total certification package that this groupon can be applied toward? Is the 50% of the Discover fee applied to the open water fee 50% of $100 ($50) or 50% of the groupon cost ($19.50) and what is the cost of the open water course?
