Are there any guarantees with catching something, since that is part of the chartering? I am thinking of choosing the crabbing option, but is there ever a problem catching enough crabs for the group on the boat (group of 6) to eat after?

the answer to my question of buying another as a gift and using is on the same day was answered but the answer said, "No, there is a limit of 1 per person total. We do not combine groupons for added time. You may pay the additional $200 for a 6hr trip or $230 for an 8hr trip.

If you choose to catch crabs, you can get the crabs steamed and eat them after? What is typically the amount of crabs allowed per person? Can you bring alcohol in a cooler on the trip if all members in the party are above 21 years of age?

Yes, you can have your crabs steamed at Hard Yacht Cafe after your trip for $20. They normally catch 1-2 bushels per trip (70-90 crabs). Yes, you can bring a cooler with alcohol.

it says you can purchase 1 additional as a gift if the person recieving the gift is with me the same day can i book both the vouchers for the same day which would make the trip a 6 hr trip instead of a 3 hr trip

So if I purchase one of these Groupons for myself, I could bring up to 5 people with me? Can we request to fish for a specific type of fish, ie., rockfish? Would it be possible to extend the 3 hours to a full half day for an extra fee? How large are the boats? Where do you start from in Baltimore? What time would a fishing trip start?

Yes you can bring up to 5 people with you.The total number of passengers is limited to 6.If you want to extend your trip to a 6 hour trip the fee is $200 more and an 8 hour trip is $230.The boats are 35ft and 42ft.There are pictures of the boats on the Upper Chesapeake Bay Charters web site www.trophyrockfishcharters.com.We depart from the Hard Yacht Cafe in Dundalk.Trip times vary.We start in the summer months at 5am and fish till 9pm. We are a full time charter boat that operates 7 days a week.You can request a certain type of fish as well.The only other fee is the mate's tip which is 20% the original cost of the charter. A 3 hour trip is a $52 minimum tip for the mate,a 6 hour trip is a minimum of $80 and an 8 hour trip is a minimum of $98. All licenses,tackle,bait,and fish cleaning are included.

Do you get to keep what you catch? It says they cook what you catch, but do you get to take the rest of what isn't cooked home with you?

Yes you can keep everything you catch as long as it is of legal size.The restaurant will cook your fish and give you french fries and steamed vegetables to your group for $20. This is a service they provide to our customers and you are in no way obligated to have your fish cooked.The biggest fish of every trip also receives a free cheeseburger from the Hard Yacht Cafe!
