Outdoor workouts are just as effective as indoor exercise, especially if you know how to whittle an oak tree into an oak treadmill. Get some fresh air with this Groupon.

The twice-weekly outdoor boot camp focuses on endurance-building circuit training, with workouts that incorporate steep hills, picnic tables, and the athlete’s own body weight. Held at Sir Winston Churchill Park, boot camp sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. until September 16.
Held in the same park, the hour-long outdoor yoga classes start at 5:45 every Friday evening, and run from Friday, July 26 to Friday, August 30.
Even though Urban Core's boot camps run on a regular twice-weekly schedule, the workouts themselves are unpredictable. This is because the staff know that once the body adapts to a fitness regimen, it burns fewer calories per workout. So to prevent this type of fitness plateau, they designed boot-camp workouts that change constantly to maximize calorie-burning and keep the body guessing. The outdoor boot camps also creatively incorporate nature's workout props, such as steep hills and five-pound leaf piles shaped like dumbbells.
Helmed by Lauren Mazur, a fitness expert who spent her childhood as a competitive gymnast, the studio offers classes beyond boot camps, as well. Yoga and Pilates sessions, for example, build lean muscle, whereas walking classes offer low-impact cardio workouts that gently ton physiques. And to accommodate particularly busy schedules, the team of trainers even makes personal training house calls.

“It's a great way to get a good work out, however, since classes are fairly large (20 to 30 people easily) the attention to each individual is lost. I would recommend it for sure but would tell people to make sure they ask questions if unsure of how to do something, and to push themselves to do the required work as nobody else will be on top of you. Overall great work out if you push yourself.”
“A great, but tough, workout!”
