Pole fitness lets you feel sexy while working out, like swimming laps while wearing nothing but a bathing suit. Flex and flaunt with this Groupon.

Choose from Four Options

  • $24 for two pole-dance or fitness classes (up to a $56 value)
  • $40 for four pole-dance or fitness classes (up to a $112 value)
  • $59 for one month of unlimited classes (a $199 value)
  • $99 for a private pole- or chair-dance party for up to eight guests (a $200 value)

During 60- to 90-minute classes, trained instructors demonstrate pole-dance maneuvers with an emphasis on poise and exercise. They acclimate amateurs to basic steps at Beginner Pole Dance sessions, and focus on muscle-toning moves for all skill levels throughout Pole Dance Fitness courses. Poleformance classes link transitions and tricks into full-length dance routines. Floor work and deep stretches make up Sexy Flexy Stretch classes, and Urban Tease combines pole-dance, striptease, and chair choreography for a sultry blend of styles. Click here for a class schedule.

At private parties, up to eight guests learn and rehearse chair- or pole-dance techniques. Patrons can bring their own music to the event or let the studio supply a soundtrack.

Urban Studio

Urban Studio's 10 glimmering poles aren't just accoutrements for seductive dance routines—they also function as pieces of gym equipment. Students spin and climb these silvery props to achieve a full-body workout during Pole Dance Fitness classes, which integrate choreography with toning tricks. This merger of alluring moves and exercise remains a theme throughout the entire curriculum: Sexy Flexy Stretch classes blend floor play and flexibility work, while chair-dance sessions tighten leg muscles more effectively than trying to waltz with your La-Z-Boy at home.

Whether they're leading a group class or a private party, the trained instructors advocate for total accessibility. They guide students of all ages, body types, and experience levels through their repertoire of maneuvers, showcasing steps in one of two studios as energizing music flows from the sound system. They don't limit themselves to poles and chairs in terms of furnishings, either—their Coyote Dance Parties teach bar-top performances to impress saloon audiences.

The Groupon Guide to: Barrels of Animals

History’s greatest poets and philosophers have all relied on one infallible metric in the construction of their most enduring metaphors—comparing things to barrels of different animals. Penetrate their heady linguistic flourishes with this clear-cut guide to animal-barrel metaphors.

  • Barrel of: Monkeys
  • Symbolizes: Imminent, inescapable fun
  • Use it in a sentence: “The new hit movie Scream 4 is more fun—and scarier—than a barrel of monkeys!”

  • Barrel of: Fish

  • Symbolizes: How easy it would be to accomplish a given task, in comparison to cornering fish in an enclosed space and hunting them with a gun
  • Use it in a sentence: “Chucking shurikens into this oil drum full of lobsters will be slightly harder than shooting fish in a barrel!”

  • Barrel of: One man

  • Symbolizes: A whimsical look at Depression-era poverty
  • Use it in a sentence: “There’s nothing metaphorical about the crisis of poverty.”

What is literally as fun as a barrel of monkeys?
