- $120 for an intermediate shotgun course (a $245 value)
During each of the above 5- to 6.5-hour courses, students begin with 2.5 hours of classroom instruction. The second half of each course moves to an outdoor range in either Los Altos or San Leandro, where participants spend the remainder of the course applying what they learned in the classroom. The introductory courses cover safe handling, ammo calibers, maintenance, and the fundamentals of shooting. The intermediate course gives students a choice of firearms to practice with. Each course typically has 10–20 students, along with one NRA-certified instructor for every 10 students. Eye and ear protection is included.
Buyers should contact U.S. Training Group directly about the course schedule. Participants must purchase a box of ammunition during the course ($24) and pay range fees ($12–$16) upon convening for class.
