Unlike new items, gently used goods come already endowed with character, age, and a full repertoire of hilarious impressions. Provide a home for a heart warmer with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of gently used and new clothing, home décor items, and collectibles at Value Village Thrift Department Store, valid at four locations in Florissant, Shrewsbury, St. Louis, and Fenton.
Awarded Best Thrift Store in 2010 by the Riverfront Times, Value Village fills homes and closets with a vast and eclectic selection of gently used and new clothing, home décor items, and more. Just like the moods and self-esteem of the sun, inventory varies widely and changes constantly, and the showroom floor is littered with household items (starting $0.80) and furniture (starting at $1) of all sizes and shapes. Treasure-seeking patrons may discover unique pieces such as a Stan Musial picture, a pink guitar, and other items perfect for displaying on a mantle or filling empty guest bedrooms from floor to ceiling.
An expansive clothing selection (starting at $0.99) includes anything from pintsize sportswear to chic women's wear (average price for a women's garment is $2.99). Begging to be loved, vintage items, such as an old washing machine, whisper "pick me" as shoppers pass by and "that's the spot" as shoppers scratch them behind the ears, allowing pursuers to head home with interesting two-person bicycles and ceramic knickknacks.
The selection at Value Village rarely ever stays the same—that's because each location boasts a rotation of 30,000 items each week, sourced from charitable organizations and wholesalers. Among this sprawling selection, customers will find a cavalcade of new and gently used clothing, ranging from jeans to shirts to dresses, be they in classic, vintage styles or modern trends. Additionally, they'll also find a huge selection of furniture such as couches and tables, along with electronics, appliances, toys, and housewares to place on and around them.
Value Village is an institution. It’s been around for years, and all signs point to it continuing far into the future.Billy Paulsen, Student Life, 4/6/11
All in all, awesome stuff. They have plenty of normal wearable options, but also lots of outlandish and amazing pieces.Ashley A., Yelp, 1/22/11

“A clean and well-organized store. Items priced individually. Only thing I don't like it that their clothing is not sorted by size or even size range. They sort according to color. It takes a long time to shop for clothing because of this. Prices are reasonable, but they run high on some items. 2nd and last Wednesday each month is 1/2 price clothing. They also have daily specials based on color of tags ranging from 50-75% off.”
“Very well-organized Thrift Store with nice, wide aisles. It has a wide variety of items. I was especially impressed with the section of women's Winter coats.”
