Getting out of the house is often hampered by the fact that most houses are located inside a bigger and fancier house. Step outside of the house outside of your house with today's Groupon: for $10, you get one adult ticket to VCU Dance Now (a $20 value) at the Grace Street Theater. Guests can pick-up tickets the day of the show on February 17th, 18th, or 19th.
VCU Dance presents VCU Dance Now, a performance by VCU dance majors known for their dynamic, expressive, and fearless performances. Audience eyeballs will enjoy a reconstruction of Jawole Willa Jo Zollar's Shelter, a six-woman performance that compassionately yet angrily explores homelessness and ecological disaster. This two-hour performance will also feature choreography by Paris-based Stefanie Batten Bland, new works by VCU faculty members, and a leg-stretching intermission. VCU Dance is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Dance and has garnered a great deal of national recognition since its bachelor of fine arts program began in 1981. Use today's deal to soak up a night of dance-filled entertainment, which presents a welcome change of pace from the usual evening ritual of being serenaded by nieces and nephews doing the rodent-bones lawn-fire dance.
