I still have not used the three groupons for this place when it last went up… for the same price minus subscription…. uggh.

So anyone used it from that time, if so… what where your thoughts?

Abby S.

When will we be able to print and use the coupon? By Friday night?

Daniel G.

to clarify in case there was some confusion, it was for the same price each, not the three…can’t wait to go though.

to answer abby, it will not be available by friday night, the groupon offer closes by 11:59 pm on sunday, and it may be available to print by monday morning-noon-ish, from my experience. However, there has been abnormal circumstances in groupon history when they have taken 1-2 days to make the offer available, but like I said, abnormal.

Maureen M.

Does Time Out have my address? How does that work? New to the area and thinking it would be a good thing to have.

m M.

If I already have a subscription to Time Out, will they extend my current subscription for one year?

Jeannie L.

To answer MM, if you already have a subscription it will renew it for you for an additional year.

Sonya S.

I just purchased 3 of these. I am gifting two of them, how does Time Out get sent to the other two addresses that the subscriptions need to go to?

BTW Daniel, Veerasway is yummy!!!!! And unlike other Indian restaurants, they actually paid attention to decor and ambiance. Hip little place.

Jeannie L.

Oh, and for the question about your address: I imagine they will use the same billing address as the credit card you use to pay for the groupon. If you’re new to the area and want to see what’s going on (restaurants, etc) Time Out is a nice thing to have.

Sonya S.

Any idea about what happens to the Time Out subscription if you have purchased multiple groupons and are gifting them?

Maureen M.

Thanks Jeannie

Jade T.

Indian food is one of my favorite cuisines, but the menu at Veerasway is extremely limited and overpriced. Jaipur is right across the street, and I loved the food there. Bigger menu too.

Sonya S.

really? Im indian, and I’m a HUGE fan of this place

Deepti S.

I’ve been to Veerasway once and I thought it was great! the food was really good!!

angela g.

can you give the subscription as a gift to someone?

Daniel G.

thanks sonya, I just wish more than one groupon could be used per table as it seems I will be bringing in a decently sized party there in the future, right now its that limitation that has held me back for all these months, and their awkward times of operation.

Libby G.

When do I receive my groupon? When should I start receiving my Time Out Chicago?

Joseph E.

question… if i dont live at my billing address because of college, is there anyway i can have the subscription forwarded to my college apartment?

Kate L.

Hi all,
I’m Kate from Time Out. Here are some answers to your posted questions:

1. If you are already a subscriber to Time Out Chicago, this will extend your subscription for another full year.
2. Your subscription will be mailed to the billing address you have on file with Groupon. If you need to change your address, you can email offers@timeoutchicago.com with your Groupon number, your billing address and your preferred mailing address.
3. If you bought multiple Groupons as gifts, follow the above directions. We need your Groupon number(s), your address, and your gift recipient’s address.
4. You subscription will start within 4-6 weeks.
5. Once your subscription starts, you can call 1-877-843-8862 with any subscription-related questions.

Hey Daniel, sometimes you can use more than one groupon per table if you have more than 3 diners. You should check to see if that is the case here as well.

Maria V.

Maybe going with a friend that also bougth the coupon and paying separate tabs?

Daniel G.

Shelton I would hope so… but the fine print says 1 per table, and in past events separating tabs was not allowed either, even if the other friend bought their own groupon, it had to be one per party essentially, but I will call, hopefully they make an exception if my party is large enough, I mean, if I decide to go it would be with 4 or 5 people, I like my groups to be decently sized lol. Thanks for the ideas.

Mary A.

How can I find out what items on the menu have ginger in them. I am allergic and if there is nothing that I can eat then I should pass this deal up.

Judith A.

I enjoyed Veerasway when it first opened, and I look forward to going back with this Groupon!

Will this work for take-out?

Davey

Hmm… “food that’s just as good, but not as spicy” is exactly what I’m not looking for so I guess I’ll stick to Devon for now. Nice deal, though, for those who want less heat. I hope there’s a Groupon for Tiffin on Devon one of these days.

Mary Ann, ginger, is one of the most basic Indian seasonings, so you probably won’t find many dishes without it. The restaurant should be able to leave it out if you make a request, assuming they’re cooking from scratch, so your best bet is to call ahead and make sure. If you’re highly allergic, though, you probably can’t count on not even having a trace of ginger even in dishes where it’s not specifically added. So it really depends on how severe the allergy is, and your threshold.

Robert M.

Shelton & Daniel, sorry, only 1 Groupon per table.

Mary Ann, I recommend calling the restaurant to find out about the answer to your question about ginger. The number is 312.334.2944.

Angus, the Groupon is for dine-in only.

Best,

Bob from Groupon

Shawna E.

If you have never been to the owner’s other restaurant, de cero, that place is also on Randolph and fantatstic meican food!!!

Renee F.

if you purchase 2 can your subscription be for 2 years then? Thank you !

Sopheap M.
I understand that’s one per table limit, but could we use two at the same time, if we sit in separate table?
Ana T.

I bought this groupon and never received the Time Out Chicago magazine. Has anyone received it yet? I looked the account online and they say I have 46 issues, 0 delivered??? I emailed time out and did not get a response yet.

Hi Ana- I’ve been getting my Time Out weekly.

On another note, I’m SELLING my Veerasway certificate. I don’t think I’ll be able to use it, so please contact me at bella54330@hotmail.com if anyone is interested in buying it. $15 OBO.

Dee M.

I have been getting my time out weekly as well. Even after I have moved. I would call time out and make sure they have the correct address in the system.

Marcella L.

Anybody else notice that the place is closed on the day it expires. Now I won’t be able to use it.

Marcella, you could try contacting the either the restaurant or the owner, both addresses are listed on their website regarding the problem you have just mentioned. They might extend your deadline of use to the following day, or in some cases, as it was apparent for me when a restaurant unexpectedly closed and their date of use for a new restaurant was inconvenient for me, they might make an exception for your case if you tell them when you might be able to go.

There is no guarantee, but at least it is worth a try rather then losing the groupon without doing anything about it.

Ana T.

Thank you RV and Dee M., it turned out they had my address wrong (just my apartment) so they cancelled when they got a returned issue. However, I am sure they have the email from groupon, so they could have contacted me before I had to contact them. Oh well, you can’t expect for them to go out of the way…

Renee F.

it was impossible to get in this weekend too… they were completely booked… we were not able to use our groupon.

Juliette B.

I also will not be able to use this since they are closed tonight and the Groupon expires today

Elise M.

I was looking forward to using this tonight until I saw that the restaurant is not open on Mondays. Groupon, how about a refund or extension? You should not have made this expire on a day the restaurant is never open.

PAMELA F.

This is crazy —-wanted to use it with another groupon deal as a day of pampering myself and could not use it since it had expired and you need to make reservations bummer

Randy G.

I was extremely lucky to get a reservation on Sunday night. In fact, I saw a guy GIVE his coupon to another table (“out of principle”) just because he couldn’t get in. When I then found out that the restaurant is closed on Mondays, I KNEW there’d be bitchin’ big time, but don’t know if that is Groupon’s fault or the restaurant’s. Probably the restaurant’s. Btw, the food was excellent. Scallops appetizer was pricey ($15 for 3 big ones), but they happened to be the best scallops I’ve ever had in my life. :)

I knew it would be next to impossible to even get a reservation in the last couple of days, call it experience, specially considering the sheer number of groupons that they sold, probably around 3700-3900 along with the first time it appeared on groupon.

I actually thought it was supposed to expire on the first and so I used it right before that date… good mistake :-)

The food was pricey, and the portions were very small, but it was really good, and my indian friend can’t stop trying to find excuses to go to that restaurant.

and I think it was the restaurant’s mistake, they should give an extra day for everyone that has not used the groupons, or observing the potential number of people maybe open the restaurant on a monday just for groupon users, I think it is more then possible the number far exceeds the people that have logged on to complain at this point.

Elise M.

To those of you who couldn’t use your Groupon because the restaurant was closed:

Contact Groupon and ask for a credit towards a future Groupon purchase. They kindly offered that to me and I am very satisfied. Thanks, Groupon!

Randy G.

Very cool of Groupon to do.
It would be sweet if they made that official policy, but doubtful that would ever happen.

Ruth G.

Thank you Elise

I e-mailed the restaurant and no reply and called and they said there would be no extension. As Open Table has their hours as open on Monday, I had been planning on using it on Monday as well. I love saving money and dislike wasting money but I really do not like wasting money when I thought that I would be saving money.

Plus I wanted to eat at the restaurant.
