Before earning his doctorate and moving to Costa Rica with his wife to work in chiropractic clinics, Doctor of Chiropractic Beckman worked as a neuroscientist for the drug industry. In his bio he describes this career change as a 180, because he is now dedicated to helping people maintain their wellness rather than masking their pain with pharmaceutical drugs.

At his practice in Lafayette, Dr. Beckman uses chiropractic treatments to offer comprehensive healthcare to each of his clients with a specialty in family care and sports chiropractic. Therapies include active-release techniques to remove scar tissue from muscles, as well as physiotherapy exercises to stretch and strengthen muscles in problem areas. The staff also offers physical therapy and exercise training in its gym to strengthen the body and prevent further injuries.
