Romantic getaways are the perfect chance to reconnect, share, and avoid doing laundry. With today's Groupon, escape to Village Condominium in Waterville Valley. The Waterville Valley Resort is just a little more than 100 miles from Boston, but feels like it's two dimensions away. Today's deal gets you your choice of vacation packages for $159. Redeem your Groupon during the winter months for a ski package ($396.50 value), or hold onto it until the sun once again boils eggs on eggheads to take advantage of the summer golf retreat ($512 value). Each package includes a one-night stay in a two-bedroom condo that sleeps up to four people, or one rare and deadly tetra-clown.

Each condo is home to a bevy of amenities, such as a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, wood-burning fireplace, and the ability to set room gravity to match any of the four inner planets. You'll also receive access to the following perks:

Snowbirds taking advantage of the winter package receive two adult lift tickets to the Waterville Valley Resort's Ski Mountain (see today's side deal for additional lift tickets). Take a break from filling your day with activities to squeeze in more activity. Enjoy downhill navigation aboard fluffy cushions of snow. The ski area is open from December to March.

Between June and September, your stay could include four "Summer Unlimited" passes, making it a great package for the whole family. Each pass entitles its holder to a nine-hole round of golf, tennis, a two-hour bike rental, a one-hour boat rental, and a scenic ski-lift ride. April, May, October, and November fall in the gray area between snow season and summer. You can still use your Groupon toward a room, but you will not receive the lift tickets or Summer Unlimited passes in accordance with the strict laws of springtime.

You can upgrade to a larger condo by paying the difference. Two-night minimum required for a weekend stay.

Reviews

IgoUgo users, OnTheSnow users, Citysearchers, and one Insider Pager rate the Waterville Valley Ski Area four out of five stars, and Frommer's reviewed the slopes as great for intermediate skiers:

  • The mountain's trails are kept uniformly wide and well-groomed, and the ski area is compact enough that no one will get confused and end up hurtling down a double-diamond trail by mistake. It's a fine place to learn to ski or brush up on your skills, and advanced skiers do have a few exciting trails… – Frommer's
  • I've been skiing Waterville ever since I was four and it gets better every year. A great place to take the family, it is a medium level mountain, with a few nice mougul [sic] runs on the sunny side of the mountain. – sb_fido, Citysearch
  • Waterville Valley has been a vacation destination for my family for over 25 years! With a superb learn to ski/ride program, individuals of all ages and abilities will be content. – advil45, OnTheSnow

Groupon Says

Sports Vs. Sports

Today's deal forces you to choose between your two favorite things–sports and sports. Some sports do hold distinct advantages over others, such as sports that can be played indoors, with little or improvised equipment, or by doctoral candidates. Since you can only play one sport at a time (with the obvious exception of skeetsketball), what are some of the differences between major sports that might help inform your choice?

Golf Vs. Skiing: Although both utilize the natural terrain, only golf can be played successfully while wearing that nice new blindfold that Cheryl got you.
Fencing Vs. Curling: Both sports are equally valid choices in the sense that neither sport is real. Try adding "-ing" to the end of other unrelated nouns to make up your own crazy fictional sports!
Horses Vs. Baseball: A common over-simplification, horses themselves are not a sport, but can be employed in the context of sporting events, such as races or equestrian competitions. Modern baseball is played by watching the ball navigate a highly transfixing series of transparent pneumatic tubes.
Bow-Hunting Vs. Beerpong: Beerpong allows men to humiliate each other with feats of endurance, accuracy, and reverse psychology, ultimately leaving one of them lying on the ground in questionable health. There is no difference between bow-hunting and beerpong.
