Questions and Answers
It says that it is offered during the week except for Sunday, are there set times or do we have to make a reservation to come in and use it?

Apologies for being confused. The Groupon states that the deal is $20 for a $47 value of a seemingly very specific tasting of beers, charcuterie and cheese. When I went to Villains’ website, I was unable to find a more detailed description of this tasting, and their “events” page states that today’s Groupon is $20 for $40 of value. Thanks for any guidance.
Yes, you can use two on the same visit. You do not need to make a reservation it is good mon-sat.
Is there a typo here? Should it be for $40 worth of food? Because paying $20 for $20 worth of food isn’t exactly the groupon way….
From what I read, this is 6 sample beers + meat/cheese platter for 1 person. This deal sounds a bit sour:
a) a 6 beer 6oz flight should cost no more than $15-$18. That makes the platter around a $30 value. Both the beer sampler and platter are not on their menu. But $30 for one person’s meat/cheese is excessive.
b) A comment from Miguel says that 2 can be used on the same visit. Miguel, do you represent Villians? Usually this is reflected in your profile.
c) Even if 2 could be used, I’m suspect that they’d actually double the amount of meat/cheese on the platter.
I do rep villains, the meat & cheese plates are $16 each( 3meats 1cheese or 3cheese 1 meat) with the groupon you are getting both combined plus beer samplers. It is a big plate, enjoy!
@Miguel S.
I just tried to call but the phone at Villains is broken – one ring -crackle-pop-hang up.
Do you have a full supply of Founders Centennial IPA on tap today?
I really love this place and was so excited to see the deal! meat. cheese. beer. perfect.
Miguel (or anyone who knows) – since the meat tray is not on the menu can you let us know what types of meat are included? Is it mostly pork products I assume?
Never mind, I see it in the description now. Sorry.
I am interested by this offer but their website has no examples of the meat nor cheeses available. Can someone give me an idea of typical selections? After reading Amanda’s posts I feel like the answer must be right in front of me. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks
Did anyone buy an extra villians groupon? I thought i had bought one but just checked my groupon and it’s not there.
Very upset! I was just told that I can’t use this goupon. No where in the fine print does it exclude today on this site or theirs. I do not live in chicago, and just lost 80 dollars since 4 of us where going to us one each. I am going to report this to the BBB. Again, I am very angry that I came to chicago to use this groupon and have been denied because it is an inconvenience for Villians to seat 4 people.
Update: I visited Villians (walking distance from hotel) to confirm what I was told on the phone. After a brief conversation with the bartender/waitress, she brought over the owner. The owner was friendly and understanding and paid me for my groupons. While I am still upset for the way they voided the groupon on that day, I am grateful for the way the owner resolved the issue without fuss. (Side note: We ended up at Blackies, down the street. Mmmmmm Burgers, drinks and friendly atmoshpere!)
hey adam I bought one and I dont think were going to use it so
The Villians Groupon was a horrible deal! The assortment should not have been valued at more than what the Groupon cost, $20. If I paid $47 for it, I would have asked for my money back. Villians misrepresented the value of this deal so I can’t fault the Groupon people. It’s a shame because I liked the food and beer selection but won’t go back because of the way they decided to conduct business with this Groupon.
I’ve tried twice to use my Groupons and the staff has twice refused to honor them.
This may be a good place in the south loop to go for a high-end beer, but it hasn’t treated me well on the Groupon side.

It says one per person….but could you buy two to use for you and a guest on the same visit?
