Virginia Canopy Tours

Everett Gee used to conduct complicated legal maneuvers in Virginian court rooms. Then, he discovered his wild side: zipping through the canopies of the Eastern United States' deciduous forests. He became friends with the owner of his favorite canopy tour provider, and started to learn the business. Then, he heard that the state of Virginia was looking for new entertainments with which to populate the Shenandoah Valley. Combining his knowledge of local law and the sport of zip-lining, Everett pitched State Park officials the idea of Virginia Canopy Tours, and started his business.

He now shares the birds'-eye vision of forest escapes on canopy tours. The tree-top tour he constructed takes approximately two and a half hours to navigate, incorporating eight different zip lines, a sky bridge, air stairs, and rappelling experience. In the midst of the adventure, tourists enjoy two nature walks, one midway between the highest zipline and fastest zipline, before returning to the heart-pounding action of flying up to 90 feet above the forest floor, a joy normally reserved for birds and people with really strong wings. The second nature walk is after the final zipline and includes rappelling.
